Just Needs Some TLC and Better Baskets!

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 4, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ The disc golf course at Erie Hunt and Saddle Club is on private land but open to the public. It's free to play, however there is a donation box located next to the first tee.

+ Features a nice mix of open and wooded holes, as well as varying distances. You'll find a good amount of variety packed into nine holes.

+ While amenities are pretty much the bare minimum, each hole is marked with its own sign and tee markers. There are multiple tees available on almost every hole.

+ Fairways and walks between holes are marked with pink flags, making navigation pretty easy to follow.

Cons:

- After hole 1, the condition of the course quickly deteriorates. Many holes are overgrown with tall grass, weeds, and poison ivy. A few wooded holes also have seemingly endless amounts of branches down in the fairway.

- Due to the overgrowth, it may be easy to miss the tee markers. Tees are natural, and the baskets are temporary Hive Lite models. Definitely not the best. They are also not anchored or secured in any way in case of attempted theft.

- #9 ends pretty far away from the first hole/parking area.

Other Thoughts:

There is a really solid 9-hole course buried in here somewhere. However, the overgrowth really holds it back from its true potential.

Still great to see another area horse club enter the disc golf scene!
