Bad Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 22, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Cool pond.

Cons:

The course is heavily wooded and there's no real flight plane on any of the holes. It's purely blind luck. Some holes are impossible to find. Tea pads are exterior carpet and usually about 6 feet in length which means that you have no real run up. On top of that, it's a private course and you have to call before entering. Think of a worse version of bluebird.

Other Thoughts:

I'm just being honest here. The course is the worst in St. Louis. It is the worst I've ever played. Some courses may be terrible but have a cool hole here or there but this course has no good qualities. I quit on hole 8 because I respect the game too much to continue playing on a course that had very little work put into it but walked the course with my friends. I met the owner of the course and he's a real nice guy but the course itself is terrible. I recently went to JB and saw that there was a tournament to be played out there. To anyone who plays disc golf on a regular basis, you will not enjoy your time there.

Work in progress... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 1, 2019 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Very quiet since it is on private property.
Has a lefty backhand/righty forehand bias. Probably more so than any other course in the St. Louis area. Reason enough for you leftys to try it since the vast majority of courses are built around a RHBH bias (which is understandable as 85% or so of the people on this planet are right-handed, but i digress).
You'll definitely get a good workout as the course meanders up and down and up and down the hills behind the house the owners live in.
Mostly short/technical holes, which is awesome for me as i have a weenie arm.
Shot variety abounds. Backhand, forehand, spike hyzers, rollers all have a place on this course. You'll expand your tommy/thumber game too if you get too far off the fairways.
Even given a lack of directional signs, the layout is pretty easy to follow.
Porta-potty by the parking area. Please use it and stop sh*tting on the course.

Cons:

It does have 18 holes, but to call them "baskets" is a bit of a stretch. Some of them (at least last time I was there) were nothing more than a chopped-off 55 gallon drum with some chain sticking out the top. They have had various charity tournaments out there to raise funds, but as of my last visit, there's still plenty of money-raising to do. (I will modify/delete this part of the review if appropriate, the next time I go there and check the good basket count.)

Lots of places to stub your toe.

Plenty of mud to slip and fall in after a rain. Going there after a storm is NOT recommended.

Mosquitos live there by the thousands (I'm sure there's plenty of ticks there too). Wear long sleeves and pants and generously apply your bug spray of choice beforehand.

Litter. Why people litter, period, is beyond me. Why you'd do it on someone's property who is letting you play there for free is mind-numbingly f*cking stupid. Pack out what you take in you f*cking ingrates! (There aren't a lot of trash cans on the course, but this I understand. Anything tossed into those cans basically has to be hauled out by hand.)

Other Thoughts:

An awesome course that just needs a little investment/massaging to be even better. Don't view my cons section too harshly as Travis and Co. have basically built this course out of their own pockets.

Next time they have an event there (especially a basket-funds-raising tournament), go check it out!

Challenging Technical Course, Beautiful Property 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Dec 12, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Most unique terrain found in the area. Lots of hills and scenic overlooks, lake comes into play on a couple holes. Property owners are very supportive of disc golf and will let you play pretty much whenever.

Cons:

Homemade baskets are still present and they are cool but dont catch very well.

Tee pads are improving but many still need some work.

Some of the fairways could be made a bit more fair.

Other Thoughts:

The weather here is always extremes - 10 degrees hotter in summer or colder in winter. Wind seems to always be blowing here also. Lots of leaves in the fall to cover your discs but good chance of having them returned since it is private. Bring your hiking boots, and lots of water!

This is some of the most beautiful property you can find anywhere around the STL area and it has a disc golf course on it! Go check it out, and say hi to Travis!! These are really cool people that own the land, support them!

challenging at best 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 1, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

private property nice and quiet with challenging shots. Good excersise up and down the rough terrain, it gets the blood pumping. the T pads are a working progress but gett better each event there is out there. long and medium shots give you great oppurtunities to throw mutiple angles. hands down fantastic effort put into this local coarse. homade baskets are a change and fun to play out.

Cons:

climbing up steep hills 3 different times sucks a bit but is totally worth the play and views of the valley.
Not enough benches and chain in the baskets.
piles of brush and cut down trees everywhere
tree stubs sticking out.

Other Thoughts:

This will remain one of my favorite Private coarses in the STL area. I give a huge thanks to the guys who maintain it and the land owners for allowing such a great oppurtunity to come throw it. I will be returning for more fun at the Farm.
