Good City Park Course drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 5, 2022 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Good sign with map in new concrete-- added about 2020.

Good pads, look new-- probably same time as Map was posted.

Baskets solid.

Lawn well kept.

Cons:

Playground in the middle of #5. What fool though tthis was a good idea? With children present, I'd recommend skipping the pad and making first throw from somewhere that the children are 100% safe. Course is worthy a 3.0 score if not for this foolishness.

Other Thoughts:

No real challenge here for skilled players, but this is a likely a plus for casual players. Only regular obstacles are trees, and the aforementioned playground.

#6 is short and quite downhill-- even weak players have a chance to ace this one.

You could possibly lose a disc into the river with a *really* errant throw on #6 or #7.

Considering options in the area, this is a fine course.

Some gorgeous views, mostly fun 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 25, 2010 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Quick 9 holes, well maintained, impossible to lose a disc (aside from a few river shots)

Cons:

One hole blatantly tees off with the main playground right in the middle, luckily every time I've played there hasn't been anybody on the playground because for a good drive on this hole you literally need to send your drive full speed right at the playground and hope you are sailing over it but with low tree branches you have a small window of delivery, I'm sure lots of discs end up in the river, luckily my drive breaks away from the river but probably a problem for some

Other Thoughts:

Gorgeous views when down by the river holes, I was compelled to snap some pictures with my phone, fun course, one night we were playing group best shot and kept tying, we played a few entire rounds in the dark without flashlights or glow discs or anything trying to break the tie, we finally had to settle on closest shot when we were starting our 3rd tie breaker round, even this went to hole 2, some of the most fun I've ever had discing, although it had nothing to do with the course itself

not bad 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 28, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Lots of trees, present a challenge on almost every hole and provide shade on a hot day. The sun doesn't reach the ground in most of the park.
-Park is nice, clean, scenic with mature trees, flowers and views of the river. A gardening club does landscaping.
-Some good ace runs and birdie attempts.
-A few longer and tree filled holes, not all short.
-A good place to get a quick, relaxing 9 in.
-Very nice baskets that have numbers on the posts.
-Doesn't seem too busy.

Cons:

-The playground and shelter aren't in the way but are too close for comfort if there's people on them.
-Some of the holes are really short, 1 and 6 come to mind.
-Tees are woodchip and might as well be grass, they are somewhat uneven.
-Tees are also unmarked.
-The course flow isn't the greatest, you can find your way around but may take some extra walking.
-Could maybe lose your disc in the river on hole 7

Other Thoughts:

Worth a stop if you're in the area but not really a course to go out of your way for.
