A fun 18 with some limitations 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 21, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

- A full 18 hole course
- Very well maintained park
- Porta-potty on site.
- Guarded baskets do add to your approach strategy
- Navigation is easy "if" you download the map.
- Overall, a very quiet and relaxing round

Cons:

- Small, rutted natural tees
- No information on tee sign other than hole number
- Flooding looks like it could be an issue on back 9
- It's not always clear which basket you are throwing to.
- Navigation difficult without a map

Other Thoughts:

The front 9 plays in the park where the grounds are very well kept. The baskets are tucked away into small bundles of evergreens, and they do require a more careful approach to score well. Beginners should also find the front 9 enjoyable.

The back 9 however plays in a more marshy looking part of the property. Weeds and tall grass wasn't too bad, but there was some wet spots and mud. A permanent drainage ditch runs through this section which tells me flooding is probably an issue. I can see the back 9 being unplayable after a good rain.

I don't have a problem with natural tees, but these are very small, sandy and rutted. It was difficult to feel comfortable, and I threw from just behind or to the side. This course is nice enough for concrete tees and would make for a higher rating.

We were lost until we downloaded a map. I didn't see a course map at the entrance or anywhere else in the park. Also, there is no indication as to where the 1st tee is. Tee signs give no information on distance or location of baskets...find the tee and you're kind of on your own.

I would be happy if this course was in my hometown, and I wish I could rate it higher. It had a few shots with length, and I really liked going after the guarded baskets. However the tees are a major disappointment, and the marshy area looks like it could make this a 9 hole course whenever it rains. Play it if you're in the area, but it's not worth seeking out on it's own.

Hard to follow holes 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 30, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Some challenging hole placements
Not crowded

Cons:

Hard to find tee boxes and hole flow seemed confusing
Half of the course is in the flood plain, so I got quite wet

Other Thoughts:

This course seems more of an afterthought
It got quite windy, making it more challenging

Boring course. Quick to play. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 18, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Quick to play. If nobody is around you can throw to your hearts content.

Free.

Near the airport.

Cons:

In a marsh so half the course is wet.

No signs anywhere!

Boring.

The only challenge is avoiding the pine trees cause they put the baskets very close to them. You will get pricked by them!

Other Thoughts:

If you want to get in some quick throws or you need to kill time before heading to the airport, this is the course for you!

Monday afternoon I was all alone.

Bit of a shlep for what it is 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 3, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Trees!! its really the only course in the eastern metro area where trees are much of a factor, many holes have two or three solid 15-20ft high pine trees guarding the basket 1 or 2 holes have trees near the tee is well, it also has the only dogleg hole on this side of town as far as I know, Also closest course to DIA

Cons:

As has been said before the tee pads are bad. Its not just that they are dirt or just that they are really small, but that it seems like the designer went out of their way to do what ever they could to keep you from getting a good run up most pads back right up to the path in the park or have a light pole right behind them or are less than two feet from the street, also they have this metal edging material around which must be to keep the grass off the tee pads but mostly just serves as a tripping hazard. Two flags in the grass with a line of spray paint connecting them would be an improvement. This could be fixed on almost every hole by making it 5ft shorter and using the room to put in a better tee pad if the tee pads were as good as the ones at say Mantey Park in Castle Rock (not the best tee pads in town by far) I would have no problem giving the course a 3-3.5

Also its not close to anything other than the Airport

Other Thoughts:

if you are a transplant from parts east and don't think its disc golf if there are only two trees in the way than this might be the course for you particularity if you are short as I'm pretty sure a hobbit designed this course with how small the tee pads are

close to airport 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 21, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

1. Close to airport.
2. Course maps on hole 1 teepad. Thank you whoever printed these out.

Cons:

1. Poor layout offers little challenge. Not enough trees to create obstacles and fairways.
2. Too many repeat holes, especially on back 9 all felt the same except #18.
3. Sandbox teepads slippery when wet

Other Thoughts:

Hole 18 was short but the best designed, with trees and an OB road for long shots. Most other holes offered little challenge or fun. The back nine terrain is quite ugly and unkept.

Has potential! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 9, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

First 7 holes are pretty nice w/ baskets being in between trees

A good mix of short and long shots

Good use of park

Cons:

Needs signage....please!

Tee pads are not terrible but definitely need work

Some of the holes cross each other causing confusion

Other Thoughts:

Has a lot of potential and is a good practice course...other reviewers state that upgrades are coming so it would be nice to see those in place. I personally need help on my mid-range and putt shots so I might use this course to help myself out.
