Did you want baskets with your tee? 2+ years

Pros:
So first things first--this course is presently only 9 holes. There are an additional 9 tee signs across the cable bridge over Greenville Creek, but the baskets, as of 5-1-2021 are not yet placed. The baskets, signs, and new concrete pads for all 18 holes are supposed to placed by May 2021. This review is ONLY of the original nine holes, with existing amenities. The course plays around two ponds in a very scenic and beautifully maintained city of Greenville park. There is a practice basket by the parking area/hole 1.
PROS:
>Very well maintained and scenic park setting
>Good distance variety
>Couple short water carries
>Nice newer baskets
>Holes which mostly do not interfere with each other in any way.

>Teepads--Dirt (with plans for concrete pads later in 2021).
>Baskets--9 newer Patriot baskets.

>Setting--Very scenic city park, slight rolling hills and two ponds, with a creek on one edge. Light trees at best.
>Elevation--Slight hills on 1, 8, and 9, mostly flat though.
>Distance of holes--210' - 462'. With 2 of the 3 shortest holes playing downhill as well, there is pretty good distance variety here. The 3 holes > 400' are posted as par 4's. Definitely eagle-able with a good rip.
>Free/pay to play, type of course--Free city park.
>Ease of getting to--No issues--park at small lot on the corner of Memorial Dr and Quindora Dr.
AMENITIES:
>Parking--About 15-20 cars by hole 1.
>Bathrooms--No.
>Water/food nearby--plenty in town, many choices.
>Clubhouse/disc shop--No.
>Benches--No.
>Trash cans--No.
>Bag holders--One small hook on each tee sign.
>Tee signs--Basic, hole number and distance.
>Next tee direction/signs--No, but very easy to see next tees. Course circles the two ponds in a counter-clockwise fashion.
>Wheelchair/cart friendly--No (because of hills); yes.
COURSE PLAY:
>Shot variety--Minimal, though a few trees come into play on holes 2, 4, and 6 mainly. The other holes are relatively free from obstructions
>Layout, long walks (inc back to car), loops--One loop, all short walks between holes.
>Total distance walked--0.9 miles.
>Ease of finding next tee--Mostly visible from each basket, just remember, counter-clockwise.
>General difficulty--Fairly easy if playing the 400'+ holes as par 4's. No real challenging shots, the two water carries are about 200', and 125'.
>Mud/water issues--Areas near the ponds seem to stay damp, and even after a couple dry days, your feet will get wet near the ponds.
>Water or O/B to contend with--Holes 3 and 8 have fairly short carries across the pond, and watch the pond beyond the basket on hole 7. The pond is fairly shallow close to shore, but gets disc-eating deep pretty fast. Also, the creek comes into play on holes 5 and 6 (on the right side). Any disc going into that creek will eventually end up in the Ohio River, so be careful.
>Difficult rough/lost disc risk--Low in the ponds (unless you really shank one), but possible near the creek, especially if windy. A strong headwind could easily turn a grip-locked RHBH throw into the creek on holes 5 and 6.
>Scrape/scratch risk--Very low.
>How busy was course/park--Only one other player seen on a perfect Saturday afternoon, there were a few others enjoying the park, had to wait to throw on nine, as it is next to a sidewalk that can stay busy. Otherwise, holes do not come close to each other and stay mostly away from other park users.
OVERALL:
>Fun/enjoyment factor, would I play again? Yes, and especially looking forward to the 'back' nine being placed.
>Who will this course challenge? Rec level players mostly.
>Is it worth a drive? If you are in the area, 30-60 minutes, possibly more once the other holes are in.
>Anything unique? Not really, just a nice setting.
>Would be a half star higher with--Concrete pads, a little more shot variety. Adding the other nine holes could of course totally change this review, stay tuned.
