Pros:
- nice hi-vis orange baskets in good repair with numbers on top
- practice basket
- incorporates some good elevation change, although lack of obstacles makes it pretty uninteresting
- mulch around baskets
Cons:
- no tee signs except for markers on ground, which can be hard to read and see from a distance
- natural tees only
- very few obstacles/very little challenge
- small risk of throwing onto busy road on holes 6-9
- no real amenities such as garbage cans, benches, bathrooms, etc.
- tee marker for hole 8 appears to be missing
- no navigation aids, which can get confusing with no tee signs and wide open layout
Other Thoughts:
Hennepin Technical College's disc golf course was probably installed for the college students - and that's probably who should play it, because they're already right there. This course isn't really worth going out of the way for. Besides the decent baskets, there's not much to get excited about - very little challenge/obstacles, no tee signs, no navigation/next tee info. The course makes use of some hills, but seems like it was just stuck in a leftover space to use it up.
I found this course repetitive and not especially interesting, and mostly used it to work on form. I'm really not a fan of courses putting the tee numbers in the ground, especially on wide open courses like this - it makes finding the next hole somewhat challenging. I will say that you'll probably have very little crowding here compared to some Minneapolis area courses - because there are literally dozens of better ones. I'd save yourself the time any check out any number of nearby courses. This course admittedly doesn't have many reviews yet, but it's definitely been overrated.
