Pros:
9 hole course located off to the side of a multi-use park right next to the elementary school in Ixonia.
DGA baskets on each hole. Baskets were in good repair, and all caught well. A few were mounted high, which was a bit odd, but adds some spice to a short course. One pin position per hole.
Nice signage, with an actual picture of the hole (which seems odd, since you're looking at the hole already), with distance. Navigation is simple, with worn paths going from basket to tee pad.
This course is short, to be sure. Most holes are in the 150' range, but they're not boring! Lots of pine trees, rough, and elevation on nearly every hole. They're still ace runs, but they're damn fun ace runs, and you'll have to commit to a line on nearly every hole.
Cons:
Natural tee pads, one per hole. Most of them were fine, but I remember at least one with tree roots going through it. Even then, it's not really an issue, as you're not going to need any big run-ups here.
As said before, it's a very short course. You can either take this as a positive or a negative, I suppose.
Other Thoughts:
For such a short course, it's strangely fun. They packed a ton of fun into such a small space, and every hole has some sort of small challenge to it. It's certainly not tough, but it's much better than the hole distances would indicate.
The park has baseball diamonds and other park type activities, and plenty of parking.
If you're in the area, grab a putter (you won't need anything else), and go have some fun here!
