Pros:

Jamieson Park is home to a very well done 9 hole course. There's a solid mix of different shots here for being only a 9. two holes in the woods with the rest being in the regular park section. Good use of the smattering of trees in the more open section too. Holes 4 and 9 are the only wide open holes here. Even then there is one tree to avoid on 4. Hole 9 starts out in the woods but is a straight shot back into the open so the woods aren't a factor at all unless you go deep of the pin.

Nicely sized and poured concrete tees on every hole. These are more than large enough and had good grip to them. Very nice pads all around honestly. One tee pad per hole.

The baskets are newer yellow Discatchers. These are all in great shape and catch perfectly. All are mounted well and easy to spot out here. No complaints with these whatsoever. One basket and pin placement per hole.

The design here is top notch for a little park like this. Simple flow from one hole to the next. You won't get lost or turned around here. They do an excellent job of using the best features out here to make a well rounded, fun round for all skill levels. It's clearly a well thought out design, not just slapping 9 baskets around the park. The park has a dog park too. That's the only other thing happening out here and that's only potentially in play on hole 3. It would require a shank to reach it though. Out of the two times I've played here I've never seen it being used. That's a pretty small sample of course, but it seems to lightly used.

The tee signs are pretty basic. Generic hole map, hole #, par and distance. These are mounted on a wood post and give you all the basic info needed. Makes locating the next hole a breeze more than anything. The only thing missing is a next tee arrow on them. Don't worry though. There's a stone at the bottom of each basket with an arrow and hole # positioned to point at the next tee.

Probably never busy I'd assume due to it's location. Very clean park, permanent and free to play.

Cons:

The park road and dog park can come into play in a few spots. The park seems pretty lightly used though so it's not really a big deal.

A couple holes play kind of close to each other. Basically 2, 4 and 5. This is extremely nitpicky. The park is not busy usually. But it's worth noting I suppose.

Hole 9 is kind of lackluster as a finishing hole. The shortest hole on the course and dead straight. It's a fun little ace run, but it kind of feels like they ran out of space at this point. Which they kind of did it seems. It's too bad that they couldn't use any of the woods along the north side of the park. Just wishful thinking of course, since I don't know if that's even possible.

Other Thoughts:

Really nice little course. I'll be back here on my travels down towards Madison again for sure. Definitely worth a quick detour of the highway to play this one. I had a hard time deciding on a 2.5 or a 3 here. I feel like it's right in between the two. This will put it where I feel it belongs.

It's a fun one! 2+ years

Pros:

+ The area of the park that the disc golf course is on is basically exclusive to disc golf. I don't think that the park is heavily used in general, but it did seem like there wouldn't be any conflict.

+ While there were only dirt tees while we were there, it was apparent that they are in the process of installing cement tees, which is great. Baskets were new, aesthetically pleasing, and functional. The tee signs had hole #, distance, and a basic illustration.

+ For a nine hole course, there was a bit of variety in shot lines. Some of the holes, like #4 were pretty easy, but #2 is a very challenging hole to birdie.

+ A couple beer cans here and there, but otherwise very clean and maintained. It's apparent that there is someone or a group that are passionate about this course and are taking care of it.

+ The course flowed very well. There was never really a question of where to go next. The walk through the woods on the last couple holes was enjoyable and mixed up the atmosphere a little. Trees were utilized well for fun tee and basket placement.

Cons:

- I wished there was a bit more space for 1 or 2 longer holes. The course seemed to be more catered towards less experienced players.

- I also wished that they would have incorporated some of the water for an added challenge for advanced players. Maybe an alternative tee for those with less risk tolerance.

Other Thoughts:

All in all, it was a pretty fun round. I'm not sure I'll be going back, but it was a easy one to bag.
