Kellogg Park DGC is conveniently located just off I-90 in Kellogg, Idaho. The park has a swimming pool, playground equipment, a picnic shelter and a ball field. The course's design seems to utilize some element of each of these structures in it's design. I don't think they all work.

The course starts at the back side of log cabin. The signs are the old school fiberglass ones that were in vogue about 25 years ago. Most course designers signed off on them as they are prone to getting beat to hell by the vandals. The ones here in Kellogg Park are in pristine condition, not one tiny crack was observed. The tee pads are red building blocks and I believe, they have been lengthened at some time. The nice DGA baskets with the always hard to read red numbers are in great condition. Hole lengths probably average around 300'. Rollers are required on two or three holes.

Probably, most criticism regarding this course would be concerning the design itself. I found it a little discombobulated but also kind of quaint. True, this course would be a safety nightmare if the park/course were ever to be filled with children playing gleefully/other disc golfers. I, however, don't foresee either of those happening anytime soon.

There are enough designs flaws to merit concern. The # 2 tee pad butts right up against the ballfields fence. Golfers with a really long run up might want to start at the pitcher's mound. Baskets # 5 and # 7 are both perched right outside the outfield fence.

I wonder if the 7th hole tee pad could have been placed up on the hill above the # 6 basket. That would have been the signature "Top of the World" shot here in Kellogg. Seeing how there is a serious lack of disc golf competition around Kellogg, I proclaim this course as probably slightly below average, a shade above vanilla.
