La Morgal Three Hoyo Practice Course! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 31, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

As of August 2019, there are five disc golf courses in Spain and three of them are located within about 6 miles of each other, La Morga (3), Parque di Invierno (9) and Parque Purificacion (18). The local Oviedo Disc Golf Club must be the leading disc golf club in all of Spain!

The tiny La Morgal course is basically a practice area on the grounds of the sprawling La Morgal Sports Club seems to offer something for everyone. Among the many sports offered are soccer, rugby, baseball and softball fields, both outside and inside tennis courts, a lovely huge swimming pool with no one swimming in August, a large fitness center, bocce arena, lighted basketball courts and a couple venues for which, I don't know what sport/activity.

The small course is set out into the park past the fitness center. There is a large course sign there complete with course map. Like you really need a course map for a three hole course? The course is partially sponsored by AEDG or Asociacian Esponola Disc Golf. The tee pads are natural but do have a front board made out of concrete. The 18" x 24" signs sit down low and are made of concrete with tile, just like the palaces around here. The baskets are yellow Latitude 64 models. The same equipment as the 9 hole Parque di Invierno Course.

Hole 1 is a mostly straight 72 m throw to a basket only slightly protected by a few trees. Hole 2 is 62 m with lots of bushy trees in the pathway. A roller or perhaps a big hyper throw is needed. # 3 is 70 m with the basket set atop a small hill. You're throwing directly toward the big white building which is an indoor tennis facility.

Cons:

Only three holes.

Easy rec level.

Other Thoughts:

I doubt if this little practice court sees much action since there are two other courses within 6 miles and I just played all three and never saw another disc golfer but, what the heck? A course is a course and a course bagged is a course bagged and that's all I have to say about it.
