Pros:
Cement Tee Pads
Tee Signs Showing both Pin positions
Not just a wide open ball golf conversion course
Tree's, elevation, rough and some sweet fairways
Cons:
Can't rent a golf cart, usually the best part of playing disc golf at a ball golf course.
Lots of walking
You do need to avoid ball golfers as they have the right of way. they are also paying double what you are.....
Wind is a big factor, my personal front 9 the wind was so bad it was a dust storm, thankfully the wind calmed down for my back 9.
Other Thoughts:
They advertise the course as playing in green grass. Well it's winter so not exactly green, but the course was well kempt thanks to it being an active ball golf course.
The 18 hole course is located on and around the 9 hole executive ball golf course, inside the regular 18 hole ball golf course. You do actually tee off near the ball golf tee one.
But after the first 2 holes, disc golf mostly gets off the ball golf fairways and uses the areas between the ball fairways. This gives you some interesting shots and why you can't rent a cart as there are rough areas, hills and washes to cross.
A front blew is right before I started my tee time and I had to deal with gusts of winds I have never played in before. On top of that, this is the desert and it was blowing up tons of sand.
I shot about 15 over on the front nine, mostly due to not being able to putt in the wind, but the wind did calm down and I actually shot 2 under on the back 9.
Even though I was playing at 3pm on at Saturday, their were not many ball golfers to deal with. I only had to wait twice in my full round for some to clear out. In one case they let me go ahead and throw across their fairway.
The course does have some long holes, specially in the long positions, but I will admit that most ball golf conversions are way longer.
Would I play here again? Yes, this course is the best in this area. It's a desert course that does not play like a typical desert course. It's worth the money in my opinion.
