My friends and I would call this our home course and it is fun and you need to bring all the shots. The front nine is shorter and requires tactful tee shots while the back 9 offers more chances to grip and rip with some par 4 and length but the wind is a factor more here than the front 9. Signature hole to me is 4 where the right side of the big tree and camp house is OB, a branch to the left of the tee box makes it difficult to cut left to right and around the tree, and water also sits on the left. 18 is a heck of a challenge

Sometimes cars are parked on the 5th tee box area in front and sports teams are using the soccer field on 6. Call ahead to check. Course navigation on some holes is challenge (1 and 5) and I think the basket for 18 is missing so it appears the 9th hole basket takes it's place

This is a good course to work on your game but also will find challenges for some better players. Definetely call ahead to ask if the camp has a retreat or special function out of respect

Hole 1 and hole 10 tees from a concrete area behind one of the main buildings. There is a sign stating the basic rules of the game, and that's it. No hole #s or distances for these holes, which is odd, because most of the other tees (Concrete also) have hole # and distance painted on them. (Some of the distances seem to be a little off though.) Hole 1 is a beautiful shot down a hill with a nice lake in the background. This course is slightly hilly and quite scenic. There is a good mix of longer holes and shorter holes and different looks. The course has a high fun factor. It reminded me of Turkey Lake a little. There are several benches and picnic tables to sit and rest on.

The navigation is kind of tricky, I strongly encourage getting and using the map, or better yet playing with a local. The course plays through a multi-activity campground with a lot of other activities, which could lead to some potential conflicts. Hole 4, for instance, shoots down a narrow alley, then ducks behind a cabin. Plenty of trees for shot shaping, but also some man-made hazards.

What an interesting course set in an absolutely gorgeous campground. Calling ahead is probably a good idea, as it is a private course, and will be closed if there is something big going on. If there is nothing going on, you may have the whole course to yourself! Very friendly people run this place, and it is very clean. Please be on your best behavior here, and don't litter!

You should call ahead first because course is not always available to the public. Tees 1 and 10 are not marked. I play them both from the large concrete pad at the start near a post with course instructions. Slight navigation challenge first time through.

Very cool oak tree next to hole 2s tee, its worth going under for a minute. Mandos on 4 and 5. Holes 17 and 18 are tightly wooded.

The Lake Aurora course has been recently upgraded, and now has concrete tee boxes on all 18 holes! Beautiful hilly lakeside course. Nice mix of short and long, open and tight holes. Map is available at 1st tee at the back side of the cafeteria.

As with any course development the improvements keep coming. The new tee boxes make a world of difference. Some course grooming on Safari holes 17 and 18 will open up more lanes. Distance/ Map placards at the tees will be of help to, but most holes are in line of site.

Course notes:

1 and 10 play from the large bricked pad at the cafeteria, 1 is short straight down to the lake to the left of the giant Live Oak, 2 plays far out along the lake to the edge of the property boundary.

Mando on holes 4 and 5. Hole 4 must play to the left of the Oak. Hole five is a giant Anheiser and must play left of the light pole.

Safari holes 17 and 18 -it's a jungle out there and after playing all out in the open for most of the back 9 along the Orange groves it's all about placement for the next two holes! A dinky Heiser is needed to start off on both leading to a tight tunnel that rewards shot placement over power.

Lake Aurora Christian Camp is old Florida at it's best, clean, wooded, and beautiful. Please respect the camp by not bringing alcohol on the course and by being respectful, this will keep the course growing and open for the future.
