Pros:

Quality baskets, grippy concrete tees, and a decent course map (on this site) make this an enjoyable experience in a very well kept state park. The course is pretty and pleasant, and is mostly open shots that weave through scattered pines. If you know where the next hole is, there are no long walks between holes. If you want to throw some extra holes, they are available. Restrooms, trash cans, benches, and bag hooks are also readily available.

Cons:

From the short tees, the course is too short to be challenging. From the long tees, it has you throwing across many paved roads. As this is a state park, the course is very close to camp sites, fishing, playgrounds, picnic areas, roads, and other facilites/park visitors that require cautious throwing. Directional signs are almost non-existant, and at least four fairways abutt the course but are not part of it. (The only useful directional markers we found took us to a hole that was not part of the course. It was an awesome shot, but sadly it crossed 20+ picnic tables and led us 600 feet out of the course.) The tees are flat but not level; one in particular points so steeply downhill that it is dangerous. Only two shots presented risk/reward decisions, and although the course has some elevation changes, it doesn't make great use of them.

Other Thoughts:

The course favors forehand shots and its recovery shots will all be pretty easy. It is probably better suited to an outing with friends than serious competition.

This course is not marked as pay-to-play, but you must pay $3 to get in the state park.
