Highest elevation and most scenic course around 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 26, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Its rugged!
-Every hole offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains!
-Playing downhill is a high risk/reward game
-Not busy, its very peaceful to play on a mountain in the National Forest
-Great use of the terrain available to transform ski trails into an 18 hole course

Cons:

Its rugged!
-You have to hike down a mountain for a couple hours. There is no backing out, stopping, bathrooms, or going back to the car mid-course.
-Not mowed on a regular basis
-A few holes have wet/muddy/rocky spots
-No benches (yet) or trash cans (because of bears), so pack in and pack out. Most of the trash you might see is from skiers in the winter, please don't litter more!

Other Thoughts:

For its opening season it is a fun and challenging course! Once you figure it out most of the holes can be birdied. Hoping it continues to grow and progress.

This area of the White Mountains is known for its hiking, and this is definitely a hike. NOT A WALK IN THE PARK.

Some tee pads still need work and not all measurements are correct on scorecard and signs. Distances can be deceiving as most of the holes play downhill. Not a good course to try to smash long drives, moderate accurate throws work much better. Bottom 9 traverses a little more to add a couple level holes.

The cost to play is the same price as the Gondola Skyride up to the top of the mountain. So you pay for ride up and essentially play down for free! If anyone is ambitious enough to hike up then you probably could play for free.
