Pros:
There's a little variety in hole distance. Hole 8 is the only "long" hole, but the others do a good job having no hole significantly easier than the others. Most of the somewhat wooded holes are a little shorted.
The first 6 holes are okay, despite being really short. There are a few low ceilings, trees placed in different ways, and a few showcases of using different lines to get to the basket. They're short enough that less than ideal lines can get birdies, and errant shots can recover easily for par. They also emphasize throwing straight, which makes sense for a course tailored for beginners.
You also get some practice on open holes, with the final three playing parallel to the walking path. You can call the path itself OB, which kinda makes those holes challenging, and there are some fences and hills to be concerned with on those holes.
Cons:
The baskets are too small, which makes even short putts difficult. Maybe that was part of the design. There are all kinds of hazards to throw into on nearly every hole - roads, fences, backyards - and if you're not on top of your game, there are somehow a few ways to lose discs. Several holes have an opportunity to put discs in the woods, and hole 4 has some weeds only a few feet from the basket. At an elementary school, no less.
The tees say the hole number, but I never found tee markings on the final four holes, the ones where you tee from a walking path. It doesn't matter a ton, but it can affect distance control and the angle to the basket on hole 6. You're also walking 400 feet from 9 back to 1.
Oh, and yes, the holes are really short and pretty easy if you can throw somewhat straight. Nine or ten under is a legit possibility for a lot of players. Hey, at least you can run aces here.
Other Thoughts:
There wasn't much to work with here, and as a result, this course is not good at all. I appreciate the attempt to make a course beginner-friendly, but much better courses for this can and have been built. As far as improvements to this course, a hole to the east of hole 1 would be nice (it would be another opportunity to throw onto Roanoke, but you already have that on hole 1. Playing (current) holes 5-9 in the opposite direction would help finish slightly closer to hole 1.
I don't regret coming here, but this isn't a place to come back to again and again.
