Great Intro Course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 20, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This course is great for new players. There are two baskets for practice putting as you walk down the path towards the course. The baskets are all DGA Mach Xs paired with concrete pads and nice signage, though you can see most of the course at all times. The longest hole is right around 300 ft with most being 230 ft or less. Holes 4 and 5 have some obstacles, while the rest of the holes are open. Though the lack of obstacles makes it easier for experienced players, the openness and short holes makes this course perfect for new players or players working on certain aspects of their game. I would also note I have seen a lot of work being down at this course over the times I have played here. This has included thinning the rough edges to help remove a lot of the blackberry bushes throughout the park.

Cons:

With the lack of trees on the course it can get very hot in the summer with limited areas to escape and cool down. Also being that the course is relatively new the grass is patchy and ground rough from the original clearing. This should get better over time as the course is used and the maintenance continues.

Other Thoughts:

Memorial Park is a great course for either a quick round or a course to teach new players. If the maintenance keeps up the way it has so far, this should remain a beautiful course for a long time.
