Pleasant enough wooded short 9 that uses elevation well 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 12, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ This "neighborhood" 9 starts with a few sidehill baskets that threaten rollaways

+ Hole #3 is 200+ downhill floater: throw an easy putter straight, and enjoy watching the resulting ace run

+ Hole #4 is very short, but it's uphill with an OB road guarding the front of the green

+ Hole #5 starts down by the main road. There's a small stream bordering the left side which can actually come into play, because the basket is on a rise, and a RHBH shot that stalls out can fade into danger

+ Hole #7 is a 200' straight hole bordered by woods on either side. It's a narrow, pretty hole

+ Hole #9 very short, across a stream that really shouldn't come into play - its an ace run to finish the round

Cons:

- Natural tees, but well in keeping for a low-key course like this

Other Thoughts:

~ The course appears to be on private property: it's a "camp" that now has small homes, some of which appear to be used year-round. Parking is difficult (we pulled off to the side of the main camp road after hunting unsuccessfully for parking spots). Playing on a Fall Saturday, the place felt pretty deserted - and we worried that we might be trespassing. But the tee sign on #5 (which is closest to the main county road) included a donation box for course upkeep, so I like to think we were welcome guests on a quiet day.

~ This is one of the better "neighborhood" courses I've played. The layout makes use of woods, elevation and water. It's short, and a great spot to bring a beginner who's not yet ready for the bigger courses in the Lebanon area, and a fun place for a quick 9 for more experienced players
