Pros:
-Baskets OK
-Some diversity in holes, mostly length
-Park upkeep appears good
Cons:
-One way play, ends over 1/3 mile from start
-A bit confusing layout (added a map)
-Some holes play right through camping (#2, #3, #7)
-Hole #4 plays right through a volleyball court
-Natural tees
-Bare minimum signage
-More room on property could have been used for more interesting course, less hazards
Other Thoughts:
Nations Bridge Park DGC plays through the camping area of this small county park about 5 1/2 miles north of Stuart, IA. Play begins at the east end of the park near the restroom. and plays most of the length of the camping area finishing at the west end near the shower house. #2 and #3 play right through camping areas, so watch your throws. #4 has a volleyball net right about halfway (I snuck just under). #5 is a sharp left U-turn and up the hill. #6 throws around another restroom and through a playground area. #7 could have an errant throw left go into another camp site. #8 and #9 could have water in play with very errant throws (behind #8 and along the right of #9). A long walk back to the start awaits the finish of your round. It appears that there is more room in the park that could have been used to make more interesting holes, keeping the hazard factor down and making more of a loop. As is, add better signage and concrete tees for a marginal boost in rating. A rather quick play, with a long walk. With the distance off the beaten path (I-80 is 6 miles south), you could bag this course, or skip it. I probably won't play again.
