My favorite area course!! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 1, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- Disc golf on a ball golf course! Alot of opportunities to air it out, and still a good amount of OB and hazards to make it challenging. And.... you get a golf cart!
- Designer made good use of the few trees out on the course. For example, hole 1 is a wide open 400' bomb, but the basket sits right in the middle and behind two large evergreen trees.
- Pay-to-play but some of this money helps with the maintenance of the course. This is a pro (as well as a con), for the fact that when other (free to play) area courses need maintenance some of the area clubs organize work days to get that done. Cary keeps this course in tip top shape, so the clubs do not have to help maintain it.

Cons:

- The one major con- A few holes are in dire need of concrete tee pads (Holes 4 and 6).
- Not a big deal to me, but some ppl get turned away due to it being a pay to play course($12, but includes the cart rental).

Other Thoughts:

Hole 14 is the signature hole, requires a 300'+ well placed tee shot to avoid a ravine short and right, and OB left.
Hole 7 is a dartboard ace run, you will see what I mean when you stand on the tee!

All, in all there are some pretty cool holes on this course.

Holes 10 and 13 seem to play longer than the marked distances.

Not your average ball golf course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 20, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great mix of shots to challenge your game. It's not all huge bombs like most ball golf courses. You really have to be on your game here or it will eat you up. Most of the greens will challenge you which is typical of any Dave Greenwell course. There are chances to go OB, blow past down huge hills, or roll away leaving you an even bigger comeback putt. The course is well manicured and in a very beautiful setting. Plus you get to ride carts rather than walking, you can't beat that.

Cons:

Muddy and slick after it rains. Having to stay on cart path adds a lot of walking.

Other Thoughts:

I highly recommend this course to anyone who might be in the area or coming from out of town.
