I'm going to need more than baskets 2+ years

Pros:

The course plays around three or four lakes or ponds and makes pretty good use of the space.

I liked hole 1 with its 250' water carry. Hole 5 is the only wooded hole and is a pretty solid tunnel shot. Hole 7 has a nice little peninsula for the green, and the trees on the course are used well.

Cons:

There are no tee pads. There were concrete pads (not originally built as tee pads) that appear to function as the tee pads for holes 2-4. After that, you're on your own. Hole 5 still had some flags, but 6-9 did not. I'm really not a fan of "choose your own adventure" style disc golf. I don't want to pick any random place to tee off.

I am generally a fan of water when it's used well, but hole 4 here is kind of odd for anyone who isn't an advanced player. It is a long water carry (I'd guess around 300 feet) with only a small land bridge as a landing zone if you don't make it across. Good water holes usually have a bailout area that is safer but leaves you with a worse approach. There is basically no bailout here. I don't think anyone could consistently land on the land bridge here.

Holes 6 and 9 look like they will be wide open shots, regardless of where the tees end up.

Other Thoughts:

The Rochester area has a storied disc golf past, and there is a really solid set of courses in the area considering the population. Given that, it's strange to have a course like this that seems geared toward advanced players but lacks the tee pads that any advanced player would want to have. I'm guessing they are in the works, but temporary natural tee pads (or rubber pads) along with stakes in the ground are not a huge ask.

Eventually this will be a course that isn't for everyone (which is all right), but right now I'd say it really isn't a great option for anyone. Until there is some semblance of tee pads, there are plenty of other courses to explore in the Rochester area.
