New 18 hole layout. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 28, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Good little course. Great for beginners. Lightly wooded in areas that provide obstacles and shade. All new baskets. Plays through the Pawnee nation tribal grounds with some older buildings adding great scenery. We were the only ones playing on the course each time we played. Most holes are not too long. Don't think I ever used a driver. Just putters and mids.

Cons:

Layout was confusing at first but this was due to recent addition of the back 9 holes. Tee boxes were sometimes not clearly marked. But again, this is due to recent construction. Short holes. But this could be a Pro as well as a con. Some baskets are somewhat close to others.

Other Thoughts:

All in all, this seems like it will be a great little course when finished. I rated it a 3, but would rate it 3.5 or 4 once construction is finished. All new baskets where holes 1-9 are blue baskets, and 10-18 are red. This helps navigating the course. I live 20 minutes away and will continue to be playing this course in the future.

Not a bad little course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jan 10, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Course goes in and out of Pawnee Nation Campus.
Some trees, old buildings come into play.
Baskets were in good condition.
Tee boxes were natural, with rubber tees a little closer.

Cons:

No concrete tee boxes.
Hole 3 is up the road, not trough the woods.
Some signs need replaced.

Other Thoughts:

It's the only course in town...I am not going to nit-pick.
I think it's great towns this size install courses.
I have always looked for courses in the smaller towns, never know what you are driving past without stopping.
It's not horrible, but I would not make a drive out there just to play it.
Holes play by some historic (old) buildings.
I would play it again if in town and have about an extra 45 mintues.
I think it's great a town of this size has a course. I always like checking out smaller 9 hole courses. We had the whole course to ourselves, nice change from the crowded Tulsa courses. If you come this far, drive a little further to Pawhuska, Ok. I have not played them (yet) but I hear the town has a great rural area that has two courses.

A long 9 holer 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 14, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course uses what terrian and trees that are available as best that could be done. Grounds were litter free and well maintained. The baskets are in great shape and caught well. The signage is adequate and provides you with a schematic and distance.
Has 2 sets of tees(except holes 7 and 9 I couldn't find them). Has 2 holes that are short and 7 that are long.
Here are my hole observations:
1-Trees on left side in front of the teebox with the basket out in the open, plays slightly uphill.
2-Dog legs to the right, low ceiling off the box and shoots over a drainage ditch. The basket is in the open area down by the tree row. From 2's basket hang a right and head SE and follow and cross the road to get to #3's tee. Tee is up on a hill.
3-Dog legs right, very open hole with the basket out in the open. Baseball field on the right side of the fairway.
4-Basket is approx 40ft behind the baseball diamond's backstop.
5-Plays around a big tree on the left side of the fairway, basket is out in the open.
From 5's basket make a left and walk across Agency St. to 6's tee box.
6-Plays slightly uphill, basket is out in the open.
7- Open hole with a tree protecting the basket.
To get to 8's tee walk NE and cross the road to 8's tee box.
8-Has a house on the right and a cool obelisk in the middle of the fairway. Throws across a drainage ditch.
From 8's basket head NW and 9's tee is just to the right of the building.
9-Straight shot, basket in the open.

Cons:

Rubber tees could be slick and are short which doesn't allow for a long run up. #1's tee pad was buckled a bit and uneven. Walking between 1's basket and 2's tee, 2's basket and 3's tee, 8's basket and 9's tee and 9's basket and the parking lot are quite lengthy.
Navigation between 1's basket and 2's tee box and 2's basket and 3's tee isn't the best and some next tee markers or painted rungs would be helpful. Wind can factor in here as well as the summer heat because this course is very open for the most part.
Many holes play around or close to streets so be aware before you throw. There are buildings that come into play as well, some are abandoned however, but better safe than sorry.
There are no benches, trash cans, or other amenities so prepare accordingly.

Other Thoughts:

The red tees don't have any signage but are shorter than the blues. The course does play around a complex and uses the unused ground that surrounds the facility to make up this course.
Not a destination course by any means, but if you like a mostly wide open, long 9 hole course then hit this one up.
