Pros:
-I think the most notable assets to Pisgah are the pin locations. They are very well thought out on some holes. One of the baskets is a hanging basket (#6), and #8's pin position is on the other side of the creek, being a very fun hole. The fairway is a slight S Curve, so it's a challenging par 3 for the most part.
-There is a great wooded hole (#7). It's a straight putter shot on a technical but wide enough fairway. This was my favorite hole on the course.
-Has one of those "Black Hole" practice baskets, that was cool to practice on, and will get you warmed up.
-The Owen High School course is just down the road. I wish I played here a little later so I could've played Owen outside of school hours. Because that looks like a great niner.
-If you lose a disc, there is a lost and found inside the bar. I found a disc, called the owner, and he asked me if I could give it to the bartender or take it to the place close to Richmond Hill. The bar wasn't open when I played but if you lose a disc, you might get it back.
Cons:
-It's almost impossible to navigate. I first saw #8's basket, then I saw the practice basket. There was a disc catcher basket beside the practice basket (#2's basket) so I assumed they were both practice baskets. I finally found hole 1, it's a short sidearm shot around a fence, and I found another tee-pad which is hole 2, but the first basket I saw was #3's. I initially thought that was hole three and that hole two was to the hanging basket. And it's not.
-Tees are not marked well. A few are marked by flags and some are marked by orange cones, but typically they are difficult to find.
-I never found hole 9. Part of the area was closed because of a set up haunted trail, so I figured it may have been around there. But I really don't know. I left after hole 8 because it ends right at the parking lot.
Other Thoughts:
-After loitering around on the course a little, I figured out how to navigate it. It starts off in a zigzag. After you play hole 1, you go to the cone and go back down to the disc catcher beside the black practice basket. And then on #3 you throw at the basket in the small wooded section. Holes 4 and 5 were kinda boring because they were short and open. So it's barely enough to get you going until you get to hole 6 and see the hanging basket. And my opinion of the course got even more positive after holes 7 and 8. I was pleasantly surprised with those two holes.
-I saw the tee sign for hole 8 on the ground, but I didn't see any others. I hope a little bit more work gets involved with this course because navigation is a bit too difficult and some of the holes here are quite well designed. With the usage of the small land, the designer did a good job with this course, but it's terribly marked.
-Cool place in a beautiful area. I'll have to check it out again soon.
