A 1.5 might be generous for this course, it's probably more like a 1.25. This is a full 9 hole course that is perfectly playable, but is only really going to entertain the most base-level beginner. I found it utterly forgettable.

I like courses that embrace some of what makes Illinois unique, as we don't have a ton going for us in a disc golf sense, but the prairie grasses are a tough one for me. Finding your discs if they go off fairway on these courses is just brutal. Admittedly, it's a short and relatively easy course, but none of us is perfect. There are some scratchier plants here that can chew up your legs a bit so it's not fun to push through the rough for long.

I don't know why most of the baskets are so crooked - even on really dilapidated courses I usually don't see this. Fixing them would be an improvement. This park was actually really well maintained and mowed otherwise, and navigation throughout the course was really clear. I also appreciate that they made the disc golf area separate from the rest of the park so there's little risk of hitting a kid with a shot or something. There's just no real challenge here besides staying out of the prairie grasses, which wasn't my cup of tea. The holes are generally short and won't test much except your ability to throw a fairly straight mid range shot.

This course is getting out into the cornfields and unless it's near your house or you want to bag it the one time like I did, I would not bother making the trip out. Campton Hills is my all time favorite 9 hole course and it's only about 10-15 minutes away, and there are so many other better Chicago-area courses.

I come here every tuesday evening while my son has Boy Scouts down the road. It is in a nice park which also has a dog run and a nice little playground. Parking is always available, there is a port o potty by the park bulletin board.
The course was a local Eagle Scout project carved out of the prarie grass.

The course itself is either a pitch and putt (weaker arms like me who use a mid at 200') or a putt and putt. It has 2 sets of tees, blues are all around 150-230 feet. Reds are 70-150 feet. The tallgrass surrounding the holes looks worse than it is. There are a few bad spots (right on 4, left on 6) where I've found others discs and had a few 10 minute searches but haven't lost anything there. I took my 6 year old here to start teaching and it was fine, even when she grip locked it into the tall stuff.

I am going 1.5 on this course because it makes use of what was there. The signage is nice, the dual tees allows different practice distances. Theres a nicely made bench at 5, some trees planted that will shape a few holes in the future. The grass is always mowed and it's usually empty. If you play OB rough it is pretty challenging as the fairway shapes force certain lines.

It is not a destination course but if you are in the area, you can play 18 holes in 45 minutes and work on your short game.

Hole 1- 160 feet. Hole is a straight shot, fairway is 20-25 feet wide. Tallgrass on all sides but it's not too rough here.

Hole 2- 175 feet. Fairway is mowed in a slight dogleg right but basket is still a straight shot. There is a small tree halfway down the fairway on the right that when it grows will make the shot more interesting.

Hole 3- 220 feet. About 125-175 feet there is a patch of prarie grass in the middle.

Hole 4- 170 feet. Fairway is mowed on a hyzer line to the basket. This hole has some rough stuff on the right. I have found a disc there and also have had a few long searches there.

Hole 5- 190 feet. The fairway is mowed in an s shape. At the end of each curve is a small tree. When these grow will make this the best hole on the course. S curve of fairway forces a carry over the rough if shot straight at it.

Hole 6- 200 feet. The fairway is mowed as a slight dogleg left. The straight line will have a good carry over prarie grass to get there. This is another rough patch so watch where it goes.

Hole 7- 150 feet. The fairway is mowed on a dogleg left with a tree on the right side of the fairway. I usually play it as a mando.

Hole 8- 160 feet. Fairway is cut as a another s curve. There again is 2 trees in the curves that when they grow will make this more interesting.

Hole 9- 155 feet. Straight fairway with a small tree at 110 feet.
