Pros:

Ripple Creek park is a multiuse park in the little town of Port Edwards. The disc golf course is completely in it's own little section of the park though. You won't have any interference with any other park activities. The course is pretty heavily wooded but the lines are fair, challenging but fair. Beautiful looking property, just gorgeous in the woods. Quiet and very peaceful.

The tees are rubber mats that are nice and grippy for tees of this type. A little on the small side but the longest hole is only a little bit over 300 so they're plenty serviceable. One tee per hole.

The tee signs, 2 on each hole, are nicely done. There's a metal sign with the hole # and distances. Then they also have a laminated sign on each with a very basic hole map. Basically a line angling one way or another to show the shape. These also have the hole #, distance and a next tee arrow. The next tee arrow comes in useful in a couple spots. Namely 3 to 4 and 6 to 7.

The baskets are really nice new Mach V's I believe. All are mounted nice and level and they catch great. One pin position per hole.

There is a good mix of shot shapes required. And the distances, while not overly long, are a good mix as well. Very nicely designed course IMO. The fairways are all just that, fair. Staying in the fairway is key here. The rough is like a jungle in spots. It will cost you a stroke or two if you get too far off. But like I said, the lines are there, you just need to hit them.

There's a couple holes that give you the option of picking a left or right fairway to reach the pin. Kind of cool and something not seen too frequently around here.

The course starts and ends near the parking lot which is always a bonus. Free and permanent. Would make a really fun winter course. The course actually flows pretty well from hole to hole for the most part. They have a couple benches out there and some small trash pails too.

Cons:

There are a few spots where it gets pretty swampy. It's been pretty dry around here recently and they were still mucky. There's a small creek/low area that weaves throughout. I'd imagine it's pretty bad in the spring or after heavy rains.

The rough is pretty brutal in spots, even on a few of the fairways. I was expecting an overgrown mess based on the recent Udisc reviews. It wasn't really that bad at all. The grass was tall by the wet areas of the fairway but that was about it and to be expected. But the potential for lost discs is very possible.

The bugs are thick in the summer. This is to be expected in WI, but be prepared and bring bug spray. Some of the worst I've seen around here.

A couple of the maps on the tees are a little misleading. It wouldn't hurt to take a little walk up the fairway your first time through on any holes you're unsure about.

Other Thoughts:

I was pleasantly surprised with this course. I'll be back here again for sure. This gives me a good reason to head to South park of Wood county more often. It's also only about 5 minutes from Riverside park and 10 minutes from Alexander middle school.

Now is it a destination course? No, it's not, but you can do far worse than this little track. If you like wooded golf then you'll like this one. This is a great addition to the area and contrasts well with Riverside. It's still a little rough around the edges but with some more play it'll season nicely.
