Pros:
Recognizing that this course was completely underwater and unplayable for a few months after Hurricane Harvey, this course really seemed to be in good condition. The baskets were all present, the tee signs were mostly all present and only a few tee pads were missing.
Looking at the pictures of the course from 2008, the course seems to be a bit easier as the fairways seem to be wider and a little bit more fair. Every hole out here needs a technical shot, nothing is over 400', and the average hole length clocks in at about 275'. Though the holes are short, and the fairways are a bit wider, this is still a very tough course to shoot well on if you are not used to wooded holes, and being in Houston you might not be used to it. This is one of the courses that you an shoot really well one day, and really poorly the next. It keeps bringing you back.
Being a private course, I do not believe it gets too much play. Though being private, it is still very easy to go in and play, just follow the instructions on this course's page.
Cons:
Nothing really stands out to me that make this course awesome. All of the holes kind of blended together because they were all the same type of shot: a shorter hole with trees litering the fairway and both sides of it.
I felt some of the lines were a bit unfair. A lot of the holes had 90 degree turns in the fairways, which are lines that most golf discs can't make. A couple of the holes also had questionable random trees in the middle of the fairway that made the drive more luck than skill.
This is definitely a course that is better the second time playing through. A lot of the holes had baskets that were hidden, so you might need to take a couple extra seconds to walk up the fairway to see where you are shooting at.
Other Thoughts:
I enjoyed the course, all in all. It is not my favorite in the Houston area; it doesn't really suit my game too well, but it still gave a challenge that is missing in the Houston area, a course that is wooded and technical on every hole. I feel that it is the step child of Texas Army Trail.
Heed the warnings of the towing if you are parked in the lot as a non resident. It is still a very easy course to go play, just park by the bridge and take the short walk to hole 12 and start there.
