Other Thoughts:

Pleasant surprise to come across yet another Eric McCabe designed course. However he didn't have much to work with on this course.

This is Prairie Disc Golf with slight elevation changes.

The State Park has done a great job mowing the course, it was in very good shape, well defined fair fairways. Plenty of parking available and a large indoor pavilion next to the hanging basket #3.

The course has a very good driving range to warm up on,

The only "Trees" on the course are on holes 1, 2 and 5, this is a row of evergreens. If you throw from the long tee on 6 you throw through them too.

Hole 3 is a hanging basket that is also raised.

Several holes have railroad ties or posts stuck in the ground. Hole 4 has like a wooden Stonehenge, hole 7 has a couple and hole 9 has them lining both sides of the fairway.

Hole 11 has a slightly elevated pin on top of the uphill fairway.

The lake does come into play on a few of the holes, Hole 8 being a long hole from the long tee is either throw big, or throw a layup to the right.

Holes 17 and 18 give you a couple of birdie opportunities. Right in front of basket 17 is a earth berm and there is a ditch past the basket. This gives this hole an easy to make island hole if you wanted for a tournament. Hole 18 is on the edge of a small dam, this makes it an elevated basket from 3 sides.

Would I play here again? No, while the course is in excellent condition and attempts were made to make some of the holes interesting, this is a boring wide open course. Face it, I don't blame Eric, there was almost nothing to work with out here. I think he did a great job making an OK course with what he had. On the other hand, this course would make a good tournament course mostly because of the ample parking and nice indoor pavilion.
