Short And Sweet 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 19, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

I really liked this scenic neighborhood rec course. It has concrete tees and flat concrete tee signs with hole info. The course is well maintained and has the nice green Prodigy baskets. The course has short to mid-length holes, plenty of trees to shape around, and a nice lake for some fair water hazards.

Cons:

The navigation is a little wonky. When you pull into the parking lot you will see what at first might seem a little confusing, multiple tees that are not hole 1. Head into the park for hole 1 (Hint: It's by the baseball field). Hole 8 plays dangerously close to the parking lot which had several police vehicles parked in it. Do you D.A.R.E. a RHFH?

Other Thoughts:

This course put a smile on my face and was a welcome surprise on a recent DG road trip from Ft Pierce to Miami. Sure, it's not a gold level championship course, but not every course has to or should be IMO.

Rotary Park DGC Flows Much Better If You Start With # 9! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 29, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

Rotary Park is a small neighborhood park set by a lake with the usual picnic shelter and a ball field. The course starts beside the picnic shelter playing into the park. The course flows much better if you play # 9 first and then play 1 to 8 which then finishes out by the parking lot.

The disc golf course has concrete tee pads with a simple tee block just beside the pad which shows the hole # and distance. I haven't seen these before and they are simple but effective and unobtrusive. Also, probably not real appealing to the vandals. I think they're perfect for a little course like this. The baskets are pretty green colored models by Prodigy.

The hole distances range from 175 to 300' making this a nice recreational course. But it has one thing that is unique to this course. Hole # 4 is a simple straight forward 175' to an open basket. There are two palm trees about halfway to the basket. Set in the trees to the right of the pad is a spinner button attached to a tree with has choices of left, right or Mando. I assume with these, one either has to throw left or right around the palm and the Mando choice would be the narrow three foot gap between the two palms. I wish the spinner spun a little easier but it's still a cool innovative addition here. Holes 5 & 6 both close along the lakeside so splashing your disc is a real possibility here.

# 7 is a fun rec throw across the edge of the lake to the basket set under some trees. The carry is probably only 125' but it's still a cool hole. I also thought # 3 was cool with the basket protected by two bushes/palm trees?

I thought the club missed out on a great option on # 2 by not placing the basket by in the palms. It's not that exciting having it in front of the palms. But this club has done such great work, both here and at Gordy Road, they probably have a reasonable reason why they placed it in front

Cons:

Rec distances.

Chance of losing your disc in the lake.

Nice course but it's still a little 9 hole rec course.

Having to walk back into the park on # 9 just doesn't make any sense to me.

Other Thoughts:

I like this little course a lot. I also liked The 27 hole Gordy Road Course a lot. This Treasure Coast Disc Golf Club just might have something going on here! I think they do. These are not wonderful pieces of land but they are somehow designing and maintaining good courses. Imagine what they could do with a prime piece of Oregon or New Hampshire property!

Nice place to get in some play! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 23, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a nice course for the player new to the sport, well made tee pads, good targets. The limited space available is used well, and the park is clean and well maintained.

Cons:

The only con would be some fairways playing close together, but with a clear view of each hole it really shouldn't pose a problem.

Great little course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 4, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Baskets in great shape.
Concrete tees with distance and basket # info (these appear to be relatively new, based on condition and previous reviews).
Located in a nice park.

Cons:

Little to no elevation change (but this is Florida).

Other Thoughts:

Short course located in a nice little park in Port St. Lucie.

For context, I've been playing for less than a year, and my home course is in New Mexico. I was initially concerned about the water features in play but found these easy to navigate. As long as you have both a forehand and backhand throw and decent control, you should be OK. Minimal barriers otherwise, although trees come into play in some of the holes.

The "Beware of Aligators" sign ended up being my biggest concern--we don't have those in New Mexico! Saw a gator a couple of feet from the bank, but he left us alone. Glad I didn't throw any discs into the water, as I definitely wouldn't try retrieving any with this guy around.

All in all, I really enjoyed this short, very well-maintained course and plan to play it again next time I visit the area.

Played here on Christmas Day. Seeing as I forgot my entire bag in Massachusetts, I played 2 rounds with a pair of Champ Aviars.

Ran into 2 other players that let me hop on their card. Good people.

Course was hard to follow at first, but once you get the layout, its pretty simple to follow.

Natural Teeboxes on this course are marked by poured concrete Teepad MARKERS. AGAIN, I would like to stress that there are NO TEEBOXES.

The 9 Prodigy baskets they set out we're in excellent condition. Finding the next tee involved a bit of googling until we got the layout down.

I would call Hole 5 this course's signature. 320' w a lake tracing the right side of the fairway. A row of trees protect a the left side.

Free to play, this 9 hole course has a little bit of challenge, but not enough to scare away new players.

3.1

Good Job PSL.
