Pros:
- Fantastic shiny new Black Hole Gravity baskets. This catch great.
- Huge new signs with all the info a dg'er could ever possibly need to know to play the course.
- A mix of short holes. Some are quite open and others are in a more wooded section of the property.
- Hickory Creek is on the east side of the property and could actually come into play next to Hole 2 and Hole 5.
- For such a short course I was rather amazed at the variety of shots required. Some serious doglegs here. Hole 7 and hole 3 come to mind.
Cons:
- This course is brutally short.
- Grass tees - however I am told that tees are coming.
- Some of the fairways need some work. There are large brush piles next to hole 4 and 5 which are rather brutal to land in. However I suspect those are still being worked on at the moment.
Other Thoughts:
The reality is, I am NEVER going to give a 9 hole course better than a 3 unless it is truly something special. So take my 2 rating as an average for a 9 hole course. There are some key things to remember about this course. This is intended to be a course for kids to learn disc golf so hence its very short nature. I think this course does a great job at this objective much like Grace Lutheran not far away. For the rest of us, show up when school isn't in session with a putter and mid to practice those shot shaping skills. Also remember that this is a course currently still being worked on and is still in a bit of a raw state.
