I love this sport and because of that I'm sincerely happy for growth. It's a legitimate "pro" to be the first course in Lawrence County. I think considering that this area didn't have one of its' own, then this may just be the perfect first course for them.

The front 9 doesn't have all that much to offer in memorability. There are 9 holes that all mostly play in a wide open space. You have a chance to practice quite a range of shots here, as the lengths are definitely varied. For the most part, the front half are all birdie runs and it's where you need to stack up your score.

The back nine, then, is quite different and that's a cool thing. This course really has two personalities and two very contrasting styles of golf. You get to practice your throws on the front and then you have to practice control in the back. Back here, in what appear to the the new holes, almost everything requires precision. It's fairly wooded. There are fair lines, but you have to throw straight to get them. I like the 18th Hole as a finisher. This is a true dogleg left, so most will crush a backhand hyzer. You have to clear a creek and a bridge to the landing zone and then there's an elevated basket. It's a great hole to expose people to how cool disc golf can be. It's not the only hole with water on the back nine either.

They have turf tees on all 18. They are brand new, so they'll probably settle a bit, but they are perfectly fine now. There are tee signs on each hole with a bit of navigational assistance. It's a nice park and there are restroom and water available, along with picnic space. We actually stopped between 3 and 4 to check out the nice little pond. It's teeming with ducks, who were all sunbathing on the morning we stopped. It's a nice touch to an otherwise vanilla front.

They are going for family friendly, in the description, so take that into account. This isn't Maple Hill. You could argue that the front nine is pretty forgettable. They are good practice shots and the course is fun to play, but if being honest the holes are all wide open, with no real features and make able parts. I even love park golf but there's nothing really here to create much.

The back nine, on the other hand, needs to settle in. There are noticeable signs of construction work on the course still. Ruts in the ground from vehicles that are full of some water right now. There are some lanes that will eventually open with a few more trees down, but there is a bit of randomness on a shot or two in the back stretch. I, also, wonder if they kept true to the family friendly theme. It's a great learning course, but some of those distances are hard for a beginner. Compare to say Brush Creek, I think this will score higher at low skill levels.

The course is very mushy at the time I'm playing and I'd imagine will often struggle in wet seasons.

Thank you for bringing another course into the world. It's a great place to learn to play disc golf and in a year or so with some growth this course will be on its' way.

This course is the perfect course for beginners to learn how to throw their shots, as well as a nice place for a more advanced player to really air some shots out.

Every hole has gravel tee pads and basic tee signs with hole number and par only. The tee signs are easy enough to find and navigate the course without having ever played before.

The course does offer plenty of elevation change, being on the side of a giant fielded hill. Plenty of chance to throw some bombers from the teepads at top of the hill.

There are restrooms between holes 1 and 2.

The tee pads are gravel.
The tee signs don't give hole distance, or a basic image of how the fairway plays.
There aren't any directional placements from baskets to teepads.
Somewhat difficult to find the small sign on hole 1 (but it got easier to find them as the course progressed).

This is a nice course. If you're in the area and need a place to throw this will suffice, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it unless you're on a mission to bag em all.
