Playing A Round On Campus

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 10, 2022 Played the course:once

Other Thoughts:

~ Called "Raider's Revenge" on uDisc, it's nine open holes split between two areas on the Shippensburg campus. The first three holes are in a gorgeous little field, and then you cross a footbridge toward the main campus to play the rest. Basket #6 is up on a rocky mound, and there's some elevation on the finishing holes

~ Hole #3 requires a carry over a small stream. The window is fairly narrow, and most of the hole is after the right dogleg across the stream. It's a nice touch to incorporate the water, but having so much of the length after the turn is probably why they made this 286' hole a par 4.

~ Good signage on white posts, but they don't include hole diagrams and the tees are just spots on the grass. With no map, it's easy to confuse baskets #5 and #6

~ The course doesn't play in a loop, and the parking lots aren't near hole #1 or hole #9

~ Lots of interference with campus activities: sports, walking between classes, etc. The basket for hole #7 is directly behind a ring of Adirondack chairs under a huge tree. It's not playable if anyone's using those chairs

~ Bagging stop at the most; easy to combine with the Papa Jack's 9 across the street (the two are connected by an elevated walkway, so you can play 18 unremarkable holes in one stop
