Very Enjoyable and Challenging Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 12, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Very nice park

Holes 3 to 7 play in a nice woods area and require some shot shaping

Rubber pads for tees

Small elevation changes in play

Tee signs with distances (in yards)

Disc retrieval pole on hole 3 in case you throw in the creek

Good mix of distances

Course flows well and loops back to parking area

Cons:

1,2,8,&9 play in the open grassy area of the park

Other Thoughts:

The woods holes with the creek in the background are very cool ambiance

Worth stopping for the woods holes alone, but it was also nice to let a few fly on the open holes

The course is now only 9 holes, the last three were pulled due to conflicts with other park users according to some locals I talked to

I really enjoyed the woods holes and I will definitely stop here again when I'm in the area, this is one of my favorite 9-hole courses I have played

Big Horn Views 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 25, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Views of the Big Horns. These mountains are beautiful. This course is right at the base of them.
-Good mix of longer open holes and shorter wooded holes. No two holes felt too similar or boring. It kept me entertained.
-Mailbox for scorecard/maps
-Navigation is relatively intuitive. I found my way around pretty easily.
-This course had a pretty high fun factor for me. It was challenging but not overly so. It was fun to hit the lines in the trees and to let it rip a bit while enjoying the views from the open holes.
-Baskets are in good shape and catch well.

Cons:

-Could lose a disc in the creek, it wasn't too bad looking right now but there could be a place or two where a disc could hide.
-Natural tees were a little lumpy. They weren't horrible though. They are at least marked.
-Tee signage is minimal and not really helpful. The maps take care of all missing information so not really necessary to have more info on there.
-Some of the open holes were too open. If the whole course were like this I would be bored. It wasn't too bad with a mix.

Other Thoughts:

-This is the second best course in the Sheridan area. The Sheridan College course is slightly better.
-I would stop and play if you are in the Big Horn area. You won't be disappointed. It isn't a championship course but it isn't a pitch and putt either. I feel that it is well designed to be challenging but not overwhelming to most of the demographic that is going to play here.

Storey Disc Golf 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 6, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This course is really beautiful. The big horn mountains are the backdrop for most of the wide open holes. This is a fun course because it has a decent mix of shots. There are a couple holes 400+ feet, and others that are short but have tough lines due to trees.

Cons:

The tee pads are a mix of grass and dirt, however there are landscaping timbers dug into the ground to let you know where the box is.
Only 12 holes, this property has potential for more holes. (would be sweet if 4-6 more were in the woods)

Other Thoughts:

There is a creek that was running fairly high and fast when I was playing. There is a potential to overshoot a couple of the baskets, just be careful because its fast enough to make a disc disappear.
