No, you can't get an adult beverage at the 19th hole, but River Run DGC is a pretty fun course. The name is a bit misleading, I don't recall seeing the river at all. The Elkhorn River is not far away across the walking path, but I would have just stuck with TaHaZouka myself.

This is a nicely laid out and well equipped course. The tees are concrete, the baskets were good, and it is not hard to get around. The holes wriggle like a snake, this way and that, through the moderately heavy woods and brush. Mix of different shots will be needed to navigate lefts and rights. There are also a low ceiling under the canopy on many holes, as well as gaps that will make you choose a line and hit it. There is not any elevation change, and water should not come into play.

With the 19th bonus hole, par is set at 62 with 5 par 4's. While the distances are greater, most of the par 4's did not seem to play that long. I made birdies on 4 of the 5, and I am no Ken Climo. They're not the easiest par 4's that I've ever seen though, and who doesn't want to be under par? I also made 2 deuces, and only 1 bogey to complete the course with a 57 (-5).

Some holes play very near the walking path, or across it in one instance, so you will have to be courteous of pedestrians and expect slight delays at times.

It was not glaringly obvious where the course starts as you enter the park. As you enter from Johnny Carson Blvd, go towards the opposite end of the pond. There is a dirt lot next to a baseball diamond to the left (East). You will see the sign for the course on the South side of that parking area.

TaHaZouka is a nice park, fountains spraying in the pond, and other recreational activities besides disc golf. The course is very much enjoyable, and was clean and well kept.

River Run DGC doesn't have any killer iconic holes, but is consistently giving different looks, It is equal parts fun and tricky. The trees and underbrush are quite dense in places, and include a few healthy patches of hemp here and there. Pretty, but its all seeds and stems. If you smell something funny, it wasn't me. That is my story, and I am sticking to it.

tight, tree lined course. it starts coming after you from the first tee shot.
precision is key here, not terribly long, but if youre putting your drives in the fairway, you can finish with a low number.
pretty easy to find all the holes.
i wish this was my local every day course.

mosquitoes are brutal. they typically ignore me, not here.

Excessively well maintained for a course in the woods. the fairways were mowed and grassy even though they were all in the woods, Concrete tees and decent baskets.
Great technical course for those of us who don't have a long accurate bomb. it seemed like about 50-50 left and right dog-legs so it didn't favor forehand or back hand players,
Basket locations were located on a plaque on the tee post.
The course follows a scenic river and if you only want to play the first 9 you can take a paved trail back to the parking area.

The course was missing several of the T posts making it difficult to know where to drive- bring a course map.
The mosquitoes can be horrendous, as with any wooded course, yet along a river it can be worse.

Don't let the river keep you from playing this course.

I avoided this course when I was in Norfolk last time because I figured a course following a river was a recipe for disaster and I couldn't afford to lose discs. The truth is that the river does not come into play on any shot (with my skill level). You have to leave the course, and cross a bike trail just to see the river.

Every hole is a challenge with all the dense vegetation.
If you like courses that are part of nature, the outdoors, and flora, then you will love this course. It is shaded by a dense canopy of trees and abnormally large leaves on native species of trees and understory plants.
The course runs next to a nice concrete trail that you occasional will use to get to the next tee with nice river views.
Easy parking.
Not crowded; felt secluded but not far away from civilization.

Almost too tight on the fairways. If a third of the fairways were really tight, that would be good, but nearly every hole is tight.
The trees in the way can get a little excessive especially when placed in front of several of the holes. It can be fun, but frustrating to not be able to have many throws where you can try to sink a long bomb.
We played a day after a flood. A couple of the fairways were a little muddy, but we could walk around a lot of the puddles.

This is a must play course. It's not perfect, but it is one of the best in the state and a great change of pace if you've been playing lots of wide open courses. Consider wearing pants and bringing a couple sacrificial discs unless you are a pro. We thought bugs would be a problem, but they weren't and we also applied some deet ahead of time.

- Easy to play only 9 holes if you don't have time to play the whole 19 holes
- Multiple basket positions on every hole
- Nice big parking lot
- In an area of the park without a lot of non-disc golfer foot traffic

- Tee signs have nothing to mark which position the basket is in
- Distances seem a little longer than the signs make them out to be
- Areas off of the fairway are not mowed, though the upside of this is the wildflowers blooming around the course in the tall weeds when I was there.
- Some holes are blind and will require someone to walk up the hole to find the basket
- On hole 16 there is a basket that is visible, but it is not the one you are shooting for, you want the one off to the right hand side
- Not a lot of elevation change around the course, but I didn't expect much considering it's in Nebraska
- A couple of runners near the river holes

River Run DGC in Norfolk, NE was a wonderful surprise when I found it, as it had no reviews at the time. There was a great mixture of different holes ranging from short and straight ahead, to long turnover holes that required good shot placement to play well. It plays through a park along the river, providing a few nice backdrops while you are throwing. The first handful of holes around the course turn mostly to the left, making me think that it was going to be a heavily RHBH favorable course. But as the course went on the holes became more balanced with quite a few turning over to the right. The tee signs were yellow posts in the ground with the hole # on the sides, and a map on the front. The unfortunate thing about these signs is they have no marker on them to show which position the basket is in. On some holes this can cause some problems as both positions are not visible from the tee, and are in almost opposite directions, causing you to have to walk most of the hole to find which position you are shooting at. This course is not a good place to bring beginners, as they will probably be overwhelmed. Advanced players though, will have a good time, as long as they enjoy wooded courses.

Easy to get to, can park right at hole 1 and go. This course has shots for backhanders and forehanders alike (I'm the latter). Holes range from short length with small windows to medium length and wider windows. This is a technical course so do not expect to throw many if any bombs. Course is heavily wooded and the nearby river add to some scenery.

WIth many wooded courses there is going to be some maintenance issues. There was a fair amount of trash and of course no trash cans. It would be nice to see some of the fallen brush removed as it just adds more difficulty to an already tough course.

I struggled early on in this course as it was my first time, but midway through the first 9 I was starting to get the hang of it. Some shots are really just blind luck unless you have really honed your accuracy. I would play again just to get more experience with technical courses.

-Concrete tees on every hole
-A lot of length on a few holes, definitely not a pitch and putt. You always need to think about how your second shot is going to look. There are shorter holes but most of those are really tight so they feel longer too. Accuracy is key here.
-Signage on every hole is detailed and it is never hard to find the next hole.
-Plenty of parking.
-This park is overall pretty nice, lots to do for the whole family. You could even camp here or stay in a cabin if you want to.
-Every shape of fairway you can think of. Perfect straight, curving every way, s-curves, big curves, small curves.
-This course really keeps you on your toes. One mistake can cost you a few strokes, a disc, 10 minutes of searching, etc.
-Multiple pin positions keep this course from getting dull. They are very different from each other too.
-You will probably be the only person out there, this course is secluded from the rest of the park.
-The designer put a solid 19 holes into a space that isn't nearly as big as it seems.
-Nice baskets all in good condition.
-Nice large sign with complete and accurate map at the start of this course.

-No elevation, this course is in the floodplain of the Platte River
-Super hard, you will throw into the rough. Beginners won't have fun here. In fact, they might never want to play again.
-Lots of bugs.
-Some may complain about the sand left over from floods that is on some fairways.
-Nettle and maybe a little Ivy. Rough is fairly thick and not fun to dig around in. I would recommend pants.
-Some of the holes were too narrow, like not fun type of narrow.
-Could lose a disc in the rough or even in the river with a really bad shot.
-Course can flood in the spring.
-I like ace runs and there weren't many of those here.
-The course got a little repetitive. The holes were all pretty fun but without any hills or much variance in the fairway width, they seemed to blend together a little bit.

-This course makes a great compliment to Norfolk's other course, Skyview. That course is a lot more hilly and open but still a lot of fun.
-Plan to spend a lot of time here. You will be thinking about your next shot, searching for discs, etc. This is not a quick round.
-I think only the very serious players in Norfolk play here. It doesn't appear to be overused but is definitely kept in good condition by somebody.
-The maps on here is from when the course was just a 9 holer. Some of the holes are the same but with different numbers. Just glance at the map at the start of the course and you will be fine.
-This course is kind of hard to find. It is South of the baseball field and North of the River. Look for the big sign.
-I played about 20 courses in the same day and this one is about tied with Cotton Mill in Kearney for the best course and is most certainly the most challenging course that I played in that trip.
-I am really surprised that I am the first person to review this course. I guess Norfolk, NE isn't the biggest place in the world and the challenge of this course might scare some off. Another hidden gem out there!
