Pros:
-mach x baskets
-crushed rock teepads
-maintained
-on the coast
-mix of different shots
-tee signs
Cons:
-work in progress
-fee: owned said he lets people play for free, but I stayed at the b&b.
-overlapping fairways, not much of a problem as you will likely have it all to yourself.
-mostly short holes, could be a pro for the clientele (rec)
-a couple tee signs a little too close to the front of the teepad
-no map, flow is a little confusing the first time; I figured out the orange cones are marking the mandos, but not 9's tee location
-flat
Other Thoughts:
it's a meadow on the coast with trees to break up the sea breeze.
hole breakdown:
#1 ~300ft big rhbh hyzer over the ob driveway with a mando right in the middle.
#2 another ~300ft rhbh hyzer with more (same) ob driveway; i was ob on both my rounds. the basket placement was right next to the driveway; I sure hope basket #2 moves to the tree tunnel that it was close to: it is just a perfect location for a basket.
#3 rhfh down a tunnel with a sharp right at the end. from the teepad it looks like you're going straight to #5's basket, but it's a sharp right before that.
#4 tee pad is pointing up the tunnel you just came down on 3, but there is a mando right, so it is a ~250 rhbh out and around.
#5 finally utilizes the big open meadow and it's the long one over 300ft, but there is a big tree right in front of the pad. luckily I have a sidearm to get it that far, but I'm not sure how a rhbh would negotiate the tree at the end of the pad.
#6 is a shortie, but has a tree wall about 75ft from the pad. there's a skip or roller line, but it had rained a lot and the ground was really soft. overhand is what I chose (thumber).
#7 teepad was not yet developed, but there was a sign on the ground so I teed next to it. rhfh to the basket tucked in on the right.
#8 teepad right next to #2's teepad, wide open with the basket tucked in a cluster of trees. when i was there the was a large woodpile behind the basket, and one of my putts entered the woodpile and I thought it was going to be lost, but I managed to fish it out.
#9 I couldn't figure out, so I teed from some random paint in the driveway. come to find out later the teepad next to #9s basket is it's teepad. I got this information after I had played: the original course before the baskets used hoops made from blue 55 gallon drums. I saw these and thought they were going to be added to the baskets to replicate the innova chastity belt. In honor of the old hoops #9 is going to play through one of these hoops at the end of the meadow, then back to the basket.
the meadow is one of the few courses on the oregon coast. it is a fairly small meadow and barely has room for 9 baskets. if you have other reasons to be in this area of the coast and have time, then stop in or stay at the b&b (it's right off 101).
