Pros:
-Decent baskets
-Quiet area to play in
-Nice scenery
Cons:
-Very tight lines
-Rubber tee pads, not always level
-Very basic signage (stick w/Hole # and distance)
-Long walks between some holes
-Last 2 holes seem tacked on
Other Thoughts:
The Woodland Trail plays through the "Top-of-Hill" area of Oakland Mills Park just SW of Mt. Pleasant, IA. This is the second course in the park with Riverview Disc Golf on the north side of the river and this in the woods on the south side. The holes here are numbered 10-18 to make a round. This is 180 degrees from Riverview. The lines are tight, generally following a hiking trail through the woods. Lots of elevation and lots of extra walking between holes. While Riverview is open and seems very thought out, the "back 9" here seems jammed in and haphazard. The last couple of holes even seem tacked on along the edge of an open area. I'm all for some technical, but this didn't float my boat. And calling it the "back 9" to Riverview just adds to the oddness. These 2 courses are real opposites. Riverview - Open except for #8 : Woodland - Tight except for #17 and #18. I would rather play Riverview twice than wind my way through here. And would rather play East Park than either. You could add it to your bagging queue, but I won't play this one again.
