Pros:
-It has signs that have distance and hole number. They make it easy to get around the course. There are also large rocks by most tees which will not move unlike signs and also provide a bench if you need it.
-Like most small town courses, this course probably will not be busy.
-You can rent discs for free (with deposit) at the City of Hartford. That is what the board at the start of the course said.
-The holes aren't super short or all the same length which is better than a really short and open course with all 150-200 foot holes.
-You shouldn't lose a disc here.
-Adequate parking lot and was easy to find.
Cons:
-This course is very very open. There are a few very young trees on the course but it will be years before they are any sort of a challenge.
-Awkward long walks after hole 3 and hole 7. The course plays in two parts of the park and it isn't a graceful transformation.
-Not a lot of elevation here.
-Natural tees which are quickly wearing away the grass. Could be muddy in the future.
-Without many trees, this course will be very windy often. This is SD.
Other Thoughts:
This course is a decent addition to this small park in small town SD. I wouldn't stop here unless you are a course bagger or if you give the trees 10 years to grow up and provide a challenge.
