Upland Church 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Upland Church is in a residential area of Upland . The church looks nice and has nice mowed grounds . I talked to the nice pastor ( minister ) who was working on the grounds , and he gave me a brief description of the course . There are no pads , no signage . The baskets are Mach II temps . The ground are fairly level , just a few grades . The area around the church were very clean . Disc Risk : near zero . Still a nice intro for the congregation to do something together .

Cons:

I was even more confused after he told me where he thought the tee pads should be . #1 would take you the length of a long cement parking lot to a basket just beyond it . #2 would be around a maintenance barn . The course ( or baskets ) then are scattered around the back lawn of the church . There is one basket placement that is almost right up against a back corner of the church itself . There were no remnants of dirt spots where a tee pad might be , so I went basket to basket . Doing this , and minus looking for tee pads that don't exist , my actual playing time was about 20 minutes . I guess you could make your own course up and safari some of the holes , but most are out in the wide open . No pads , no signage and temp baskets .

Other Thoughts:

I don't think that I can call this a course . It is more like 9 temp baskets on a church's grounds . The best part of the temp baskets is that if you have a disaster course , you can slowly mold it into a real one later . I try not to bash the promotion of disc golf if I can .
My Recommendation : This is something created for the kids of families of a church to come together and enjoy . A $13 investment in a cheap disc and a little time is all you need to keep you occupied or whet your interest to graduate to a real course ( Matter Park ) about 20 minutes away . Other than that , maybe some putter practice for a few of the locals around town . Please be respectful to the church . No alcohol and don't play during services .
