Pros:
-Decent Baskets (Mix of DGA and Dynamic)
-Excellent Tee Signage
-Layout is easy to follow
-OK beginner course with a little length
Cons:
-Holes #2 and #3 play on development (private) land
-Holes #4 and #5 play along the street
-Hole #7 plays over a basketball court (Especially for RHBH)
-Natural Tees
-A few trees to work around, but not much excitement for more skilled players
Other Thoughts:
Victory Park DGA plays just east and south of the CAM Schools in Anita, IA. A reasonable city park course, play begins in the middle with a first tee that took me a minute to find (added a map). Holes #2 and #3 play across the street from the rest on private land that has a large sign on it advertising sale for development. #4 and #5 play with the street to your left, which is OB. The other hazard is on #7 that plays along one side of a basketball court (also OB) and really over it if you are RHBH. The set-up was OK, the park in nice condition. What knocks down the rating is the hazards and the threat of losing 2 holes to development (the sign shows it as 3 lots any one of which would kill both holes). Concrete tees would add a bump to the rating. An OK course in its current configuration, I might play again, if in the area.
