Not a lot to work with 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 31, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

New Latitude 64 Pro baskets
Nice tee pads
Decent tee signs showing the basics of the hole

Cons:

Some safety issues
Not a lot to work with, but someone tried to make a decent course out of it.

Other Thoughts:

Vast improvements over the original 9 hole course. I was not kind in my review of that course 5 years ago. I said to not bother playing.

Well, while not a great course, the new layout is not horrible for the most part.

You now tee off near the lake with a nice warmup holes and ace runs.

Holw 3 is the first issue hole. You have your first longer hole doglegged around a home with a mando marked to keep you from throwing over the yard. That just does not work.

Holes 4 and 5 are basic wide open shot where the roads might come into play.

Then you have your first real par 4 hole. Decent hole, however you are throwing around a couple of backyards. The fairway is pretty narrow with the road playing OB. Then you have a raised basket done pretty well (see picture)

Then 7, 8 and 9 are all pretty wide open shots with only the roads coming into play if your off.

Hole 10 is the shortest hole on the course. Either throw over the line of tree's or hit a small gap to get to the green.

Then 11, the blue tee is actually the red tee for hole 15 and the red tee is the blue tee for hole 15. Not the best design, but if no one else is around it should not be a factor.

Hole 12 is the signature hole to me, you actually tee off from a wooden walkway over the wetlands to the basket sitting under some large tree's. There is a saety issue in that you are throwing almost directly at an observation walkway for the wetlands and you do have a backyard to the right by the basket.

Hole 13s is a basic birdie filler hole to get you over to 14.

Ok, now 14 is a decent disc golf hold, 360ft with OB to the right, past the basket (which is the other raised basket on the course) and the wetlands for off to the left. Major safety issues on this hole. The guy who lives in that end townhome is going to find discs hitting his house. I do like how the raise basket is on the edge of the hill, miss your putt and you just may find yourself OB in the street throwing even higher up to the basket.

Then a couple of more open holes with 15 and 16.

hole 17, this hole almost plays as an island hole. You are throwing over the edge of the lake over some marshy area. No tree's just a simple 300ft shot.

Now I guess the course designer had to get back to hole 1 area so they made a 931ft hole with an OB road to the left and the lake on the right. Par 5 would almost feel like a birdie if you manage to keep your drives in bounds.

I did enjoy my round but the weather was beautiful. Very wet due to rain, but I had zero wind and no rain while I was playing. The hole length is perfect on several of the holes and my Wraith was working well, I shot several under and enjoyed my round.

Would I play here again? Maybe for a tournament, but not for a casual round. It's a good enough course to make a quick stop if you have not played it, but it is not a destination course.

Average course with a few safety issues 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 20, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Logical flow
- Concrete tees
- Descriptive tee signs
- Variety of shot shapes and distances

Cons:

- Holes too close to a street and a couple of blind shots around a bend.
- Holes close to houses
- not much in the way of obstacles

Other Thoughts:

The course is 18 baskets with at least one concrete tee per hole. Three holes have two tees. The course appears to reside on old residential blocks that were abandoned to accommodate flooding from the reservoir of Lake Eufaula. Two holes have water (Lake Eufaula) in play on them.

Play starts at a shelter on the shore of the lake and then zig zags around the park that is located at the tip of a bay. Holes will often parallel a city street or the boundary between the park and various houses and apartments adjacent to the park. A few holes have the wetlands area, from which the park gets its name, come into play. There are a couple of unfortunate shots that are near a blind curve in the main road going through the park that can be a real safety issue.

The holes themselves, ignoring their proximity to traffic and housing structures, does a good job of utilizing the few trees on the property. Most shots, however, are open and straight. The standout hole is the 931' #18, with OB road on one side and Lake Eufaula on the other.

In general, it's a decent course for its limitations.
