"Woody" is the most challenging sub-100' hole in the region. It IS aceable, but you can also bogie it! My preferred technique is a very firm "putt' with the intent of getting between the two small tree trunks and the large (walnut?) trunk just before the pin. My buddy tries to use the more open space on the right and aims for a rhbh fade line.

"the Entry" plays from the shorter tee position on the path into the wood line, and is just far enough for many players to force a choice in disc types (fairway? mid?). I've gotten to where I'm comfortable running a comet straight at it. You can overrun it some and still not reach the river, but be sure no one is on THAT fairway (playing "Woody") before you throw.

"the Ceiling" has not one, but two huge, low branches to define your tee shot. You typically must go low and firm underneath in order to run it. I throw a Comet here. But you can conceivably get a lucky shot over the first branch, ...or... spiking in left to right around the branch. But be aware, you have a huge drop into the river about 15' right of the basket!

"the Path" is included in this course as the shortest open shot in the entire region, so there's at least one ace run chance for your six year old. Enjoy putting and running it, but remember, if it's a tone pole and not a basket, you'll want to leave yourself with as short a putt as you can!

"the Pedestal" is a fun putter shortie with three challenges: the dead tree leaning in on the right, the branches of the trees further along on the left, and the elevated pin position. I go at this one with a flexed Vibram VP.

"the Wire" plays from the 'short' tee position to the 'short' basket position about 35' past the tie-down wires, and just hidden on the left side. It's not a lefty friendly hole. As a rhbh player, my best results come from a Zone thrown flat out to the right, around the branches and trees, intended to fade in close.

"Drop Zone" plays from, well, the dz, slightly left to right to the long basket position just before the OB path. Because of the ceiling here (and the overstability of my preferred putter), I throw a Comet with more spin than velocity here, intending to glide in and drop as close to the basket as I can.

"the Grove" is the original Williamsburg hole 1, with a mando left of the marked sycamore tree (in order to guard the picnic tables on the 'terrace' over there). The best rhbh shot is a stable midrange thrown firmly at the tree in the right side gap, which fades more than you might expect, around the guardian trees and in close to the pin.

After crossing the driveway toward the smaller shelter, "the Flag" plays from the path to the pin position just downhill from the park flag, and best reached with something that can get in safely left to right (rhbh anny, for instance, rhfh even better). The thing to avoid is a floaty fade to the left, as the slope will give you a longer and longer putt.

"the Gaps" requires a confident pull out between the trees near the tee, in order to glide all the way across the clearing to the short pin position. Check on how strong the wind is, and decide on how stable of a disc to throw. I have Comets with different degrees of stability for this shot.
