Cons:
No tee pads, the posts are beside 2' X 2' paving stones with the hole # on them. They are too small to throw from, unless it's a standstill.
While most holes throw away from the building (#1), or across the open hillside beside the school (#3 - #8), #9 does cross a road used for parking and ends pretty close to the building.
The grass on the hillside was pretty long the day I played, they did have rain for about a day and half before that, so that probably helped the growing and delayed the mowing. Not sure if the grass is normally kept at that level, but would be good if its cut a little shorter.
Other Thoughts:
Since I discovered this course on that other App, got it added here (including loading Pics) and was the first to play it, I thought I would be the first to review it also!
All in all, not a bad High School DG course. The good DISCatchers were very nice to find and great to see spread across the hillside as you come into sight of the school. I hope they are used for PE class (or whatever its called in CAN) to introduce new players to our sport.
The school sits on the corner of a busy city street and Connell Park Road, driving up that road, it leads to a large RV Park, a busy playground, ballfields, a large indoor complex (most likely ice rinks) and what appeared to be fairgrounds. So, in addition to introducing the students, all of the other visitors to these facilities drive past this course. A very visible spot to attract interested players.
Hole #7 takes advantage of the only trees on the hillside, essentially a V shaped double Mando downhill. The #2 basket is between two sets of trees and along the park road. I threw 2 pretty good drives here and was congratulated with a "Nice Shot" from the passenger of a passing car!
Not challenging at all for intermediate and up players, but a good introductory course for beginners and families. Oh yea, and a pretty easy Canadian course (my 1st) to bag from Eastern Maine. US I-95 ends at the border, just past Houlton, ME, (you do need a passport to cross the border) then the highway continues to Woodstock, less than 15 minutes into CAN. Plus, there is plenty of retail on the main road to the school, so a lot of options on the way.
So, if you've ever wanted to say, "I PLAYED AT WOODSTOCK", here's your chance!!
