[Innova] Blizzard Technology

Would you say it could be because I am throwing a Wraith?? Maybe the Ape or Boss would fly much better?? I am thinking about going up a few grams.. I have a 134g Wraith..

No. Clearly you are just too strong to throw Blizzards of any weight or mold. You said it yourself, don't give in!

I have a ~135 Wraith that is pretty flippy, almost useless in a slight headwind, but man it bombs on a tailwind hyzer flipped flex shot. My 135 and 150 Blizzard Bosses are my most consistently long discs, but the Wraith on that shot is my longest.

That Wraith is also excellent at awkward shots that have limited reach back or follow through or poor footing or stance that need to go long. It's a great disc, you just have to use it under the right circumstances.

Contrary to some, I believe the best thing about Blizzard discs is not that they get you more distance, but rather that they give you the same distance with less power, and thus, at least theoretically (in practice in my case) more accuracy at your previous max distance with standard discs.

Different strokes though...

I haven't thrown a Boss lighter than 150g, but I sure love my 150 Blizzard Bosses... I have two in my bag currently... one that is beat to &%$* that I can throw with plenty of hyzer and it will go straight as an arrow, the other is pretty stable even in a headwind.

Yeah Im thinking of a 146-148g Blizzard Boss.. I think that would be good for me. I can put power into it then without it flying to the right.. Ill be anle to appreciate blizzard plastic.

Hey, what you do with your discs in the privacy of your own home is your own business, but if you ever go to trade that disc, you be sure to tell them how you had to "be anle to appreciate blizzard plastic."

Personally I appreciate them by throwing them, but hey, to each their own.

It scares me that you put that much effort into making fun of a typo...lol good stuff

Bottom line: is this the blizzard gonna do me any good if I'm currently not throwing any drivers - only throwing a teebird about 300-325 at the moment?

Try a 130-140 wraith. Before I bought the two I have, I was only occasionally carrying a Valkyrie as my fastest driver. I am a big TeeBird fan also! The Wraith would be a good first step up.

hahahaha. That's good stuff lol. Typically I don't do much but throw my discs but you know.. lol. I appreciate you finding the typo though, reading this and noticing it was my comment made me laugh even more. Fantastic. lol.

I powered down my friends slightly heavier Wraith and I got one hell of a throw out of it.. Not max distance but any means but the thing isn't bad.. You just can not put full power on it.

At the distance competition at Bowling Green Ams today, all the qualifying shots and most of the shots in the finals were with blizzard discs with several shots in the 500-540' range with blizzard bosses and destroyers by the big guns.

Interesting, but not surprising at all. It seems once you work on timing, the distance just comes so easily. I threw about 400 from almost a standstill today with me 156 Katana. Still have a little issue with timing when I try to bomb them, but nothing a little field work won't fix.

I was first amazed by my Blizzard discs, but now, after throwing them side by side with my Nukes a lot, I don't see enough of a difference. My 156g Katana, flies the same, and goes the exact same distance as my first run, domey Nuke. My 150g Destroyer flies the same, and same distance as my Newer Nuke. I actually find more control in my Nukes because of the heavier weight. I think I will be taking the blizzards out of my bag, and possibly selling them. I'm keeping the Katana for now because I have not found anything that flys like my broken in FR nuke.

I had the same reaction to mine. Some throws were 10-20 feet past my main drivers, other throws were about equal. The reason I still have them in my bag is just how easy the are to throw far. I use them on the longer holes at my course because instead of throwing something OS and hoping I turn it over and get the D, i can throw at 75% and get where it needs to be.

There seems to be a really wide variety of experiences with this new plastic. I just grabbed a 150 Katana and I'm heading out. I'll report back with my findings.
