Does anyone have a reasonable explanation as to why pro player look away when someone else is putting?
Because you don't want to make the call when someone else makes a falling putt, or other stance violation. :\Why look away when someone is putting?
It's a weird thing that if you could be in someone's eye line you turn away and some people just do it always.
Like if you can't see them they can't see you, like the Bugbladder beast of traal.
Just get out of the way and watch, that's probably half the reason no one calls foot faults, they just didn't see them.
Can't say the why, but it's a courtesy that I inherited from the old guys that I used to play with.
If you don't see a violation, you can't call it. No one wants to be "that guy".
It's great to see that some people still quote the classics.
why is it courteous to do so, or discourteous to not do so?
I was so hoping someone would get the reference!
