Wow I just saw in the the Sunday Socal group that you're not with us anymore. You were one of the most positive disc golfers I EVER had the pleasure of playing with. We played 30+ rounds together and you always had a smile on your face. You will be greatly missed.
Right on!!....well enjoy your weekend with the wife and wish her a Happy Birthday for me...Take it easy Baz and hope to fling some plastic with ya all soon.
yes, Banshee/Whippett are pretty much neighbors...Im gonna miss Casitas (MayHem) this year..kinda bummed, but ill be up at Mammoth Lakes enjoying some fishing with the fam..you gonna make it up there this weekend?
Whippett!!.....well Baz, i want to thank you for thinking of me..But it is a little light for what i throw..i havent got one yet as i fell i in love with my Banshee and just bought an Ape and A Teedevil..oh and ANOTHER Roc..love my Rocs...But thanks again i appreciate it...Hope to get out there soon with the gang.
Also in regards to the fee to play Sky High, is that $7.00 per person, or per vehicle? Just like to know so we know how much cash and what not to have. I have had it happen to me more than once to get somewhere to pay the entrance fee with my debit card and they don't accept it, so off to find an ATM I went, es no bueno.
I definitely want to play Oak Grove and Sylmar for sure. I've played both of them, but the people coming with me have never played anything west of Ohio so those are, what I feel, the best two courses in the LA Basin that I have played so far. Symlar is just a nice course and OG, while still nice, is just awesome for the history. I think we will be hitting those on May 1st or maybe the 2nd, not sure yet, but as it get closer I'll be able to tell you for sure.
Yeah I've been hitting up people trying to track him down with no luck. I did see that he did log in the other day for whatever that is worth.
I check the weather report for Wrightwood, it's looking pretty good over the next 10 days so hopefully we'll be able to get up to Sky High for a round for sure. I really hope so, that's the one course in Socal that I haven't played that's been driving me crazy, I've been out there every year since '08, I should have played it by now.
Keep me posted on whether or not you are going to be able to make it up to Casitas, like I said, I'll be there for sure and I think a few other peeps are coming out.
That sounds pretty awesome. I'll have to keep an eye on the weather up there and if it's not too bad we'll definitely do it. Wish Route 2 was still open through Angeles NF, we're actually camping there the first night we get to Cali and it would make the drive between the two so much better, but....
Know anymore on whether or not you'll make it up to Casitas or not? I think there are still a few people planning on going up, but now sure how many. I know we'll be there for sure. I PM'd Avus about Snappy to see if he had heard anything from him, but he hasn't, don't know if he's still planning on being there or not.
I was wondering about Sky High. I didn't know what the weather would be like up there this time of year. I, of course, would play in any weather, and my gf is the same, but we will have at least one noob with us this just isn't adventurous as we are in regards to disc golf. I actually camped not too far from there a few years ago, in '08, at Blue Ridge campground off of Route 2 in Angeles National Forest and to this day it is still one of my favorite camping spots. At night you can see the lights of LA below, but it's still so peaceful and quiet, it was so nice.
Well I really hope you can make it up, if even for just a day. We leave on Wednesday and start heading west. Looks like we might be down to three, one of our crew will probably end up working and not be able to make it out. We will be around the LA are hitting up some courses a couple of days before the meet. I want to take them to Oak Grove and Sylmar, and I would like to try to play Glen Helen on the way from Vegas. If we have time I would also like to try to hit Verdugo Hills as well. I've played OG and Sylmar, but the other two would be new to me.
Thanks, man, I hope to get a lot more this time out. Speaking of are you going to make it up to Casitas for the meet this year. I leave in 16 days and will be driving out again. This time I'll have 3 other people with me, it's going to be a great time. We will be hitting the Grand Canyon, none of the people coming have been there before, Vegas, and spending a couple of days around the LA area before heading up to the meet. Doesn't look like it's going to be a big a turnout as last year, but I'm sure it will still be a great time.
