[Innova] Wraith love - post your stories

Lost my Augusta CFR Wraith (2006) last week... I no longer want any special discs, when I fall in love its for life. RIP :wall:

    [Gateway] Wizard Selection & Procurement

Yes! Sorry for the delayed follow up! I took some time to play a few rounds and do some field work before responding... This thing has turned into a novel, so sorry about that. I figured everyone deserved some interesting feedback though considering the thoughtful responses I got. As for my...

Reach back era is over, long live the whip.

I was happy to see someone that knows more than me talk about "whip" vs "reach back". I've noticed in the field that when I focus on reaching back I end up stiff-arming throws. It feels like I have no power at all. This of course is not inherent to reach back necessarily, but it's what...

Extending Distance with Putters and Mids

I've been curious about this topic recently too. I ended up grabbing a 300' tape from home depot and brought a stack of putters and mids out to the field this morning. To answer your first question, I've always used a fan grip for all putter shots. I think I tighten up the fan when driving...

Yeah, I don't think it was under par. I also question the location of disc landing vs. next shot throwing on a few holes. Pretty sure I saw a foot fault in there too at some point  ;)

This is awesome info! Most of it agrees with my own general reasoning on the subject (I am a structural engineer and design water tanks, so I have some knowledge on fluid dynamics... not extensive though). However, I had thought that a beat-in disc must lose translational speed vs the fresh /...

    Classic Review lines

Not a review per se, but a walkthrough under the media tab which I often enjoy more. Found this gem while looking for courses near a vacation spot we have planned... No words needed is a plus in my book (minus an "ooooppppssss" and some lip reading). Yes, I laughed out loud several times and...

The Ask MJ & Comet Love Thread

Finally had some time to throw my first pair of comets a few times, one MJ signature and one ESP... and WOW!! After getting the release angle right I found myself mumbling "effing ell" (in a good way)! What a ridiculously satisfying flight path these things can take. So there a few holes on...

Hey Codo. Welcome! I can relate to going "all in" at hobbies. I get into something and I push and push to see how good I can get. I'm also very analytical and competitive... it's no coincidence my day job is as a structural engineer and I played competitive sports into college. As much as...

That's kinda what I'm thinking too. I'll prob just take the plunge in the next day or so. Even discs I don't use I still like having... It's nice to have a huge stack of whatever when throwing in the field. And I can always try and sell or trade!

    [Gateway] Wizard Selection & Procurement

You're right, finding a store would be the best way to go. There aren't any near me though so it would require a special trip & time. Knowing myself, I've accepted that I'll buy a few different types before I make it to a store, as bad as it sounds. I do like that even with variation in...

There isn't anything glaring about aviars, it's more like the "grass is greener" syndrome.. Or just curiosity would be a better way to put it. As far as glide though, I was hoping Wizards had a bit more if anything? For circle-ish puts, glide is hard to compare between discs I think.

So because I'm impatient, do you think it would be better to start with a few different options and test them out before buying multiples, or do my research and just go with a (short) stack right away? I just bought a basket and my aviars are different weights which is starting to annoy me.

    [Gateway] Wizard Selection & Procurement

Hey All, There are a lot of threads about Wizards out there and I've searched several and read a fair amount. I still think my question(s) deserve a post though, as I'm hoping to get some help specific to my situation... As background, I'm currently putting KC Pro Aviars and I don't have any...
