[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Official Thread) (Part V)

Here is my review of the new ENTROPY and FLARE: farKUkoLwq8 To amend my video: The Entropy reminds me of a Harp or a Envy/Deflector hybrid, with a slow hard finish The Flare reminds me of a Predator both in flight and feel in-hand

How many different throwing styles do you use?

All right hand throws: Off the tee, I'm 95% backhand, 4% forehand and 1% other (tomahawk or a rare grenade). On usphots, its similar, but a little bit more even distribution.

    Building the minimalist bag

The core of my bag is: Stable Distance Driver - Photon Straight Fairway/control Driver - Volt OS Short range disc - Resistor Straight Mid - Axis Straight Putter - Anode I rarely throw anything other than these, but bag some additional discs situationally

nine hole courses and pdga sanctioned tournaments

Minimum for a round is 13. I've added 4 temp holes to a 9 hole course to do a 3x13 format that works well.

    Great article about AM divisions.

Thanks for your response. I just circled back to this forum after being away for a few weeks. I am very glad that I authored the piece and helped spark this conversation. I would love if the PDGA were willing to to a bit more to set precedents and expectations as well as clearly lay out good...

    Great article about AM divisions.

The article is not about bagging. The PDGA offers quite a few Amatuer divisions. The article breaks looks at combining and simplifying those divisions. I do agree that the number (and nature) of wins could be adjusted to be a bit more fair, or even possibly omitted.

    Great article about AM divisions.

Fair question. This conversation is happening now on this forum, Reddit, Facebook and on the article itself. Some are standing firm in the idea that the current system is fine as-is. Others have expressed their interest in a simplified system (or have looked at pros/cons associated with it)...

    Great article about AM divisions.

I don't know if there is good data on either side of this argument. Can you show anything from the PDGA that shows that current divisions are set up in a statistically sound way? This is an opinion/editorial piece, not a data-driven research article. I have stressed - the numbers used for the...

    Great article about AM divisions.

Hello! It seems that you have foundational disagreements with the ideas presented and possibly me as a person. I respect the history and experience of those that have been in the sport for longer than I've been alive and appreciate the amount of work that has gone into events. This article is...

    Great article about AM divisions.

Lets agree that there is a big difference in the two extremes you mentioned. In reality, players in a division should have a realisitc possibility of placing (in the top 40%).

    Great article about AM divisions.

Interesting. I would say that the current system encourages players to divide themselves. I'd like a system that operates much closer to the 'old' way. I think a very large portion of players competing today (myself included) would have a better and more robust, healthy tournament experience...

    Great article about AM divisions.

TD's can remove divisions currently, but as it stands some players may see their division missing and mistakenly assume the event isn't for them. The idea presented is a re-imagining of the current Amateur side of the PDGA. The issue arises frequently - even if just Novice, Rec, Intermediate...

    Great article about AM divisions.

Hey all, I'm the author of this article. It's been very interesting to see comments about this topic posted (and looking very different) across Facebook, Reddit, the article itself and this site. To address a few things: I have TDed events (around 10) and helped many new players get into...
