I have more potential winners on my mind than ever before at a Worlds. Disc golf parity is increasing and it's a great thing to see as a fan. I can't really remember how tight Brewster is, but I don't recall it being as punitive as Maple or Idlewild. I say this because Eagle may not be known for wooded golf, but his putting is exceptional, and he is fully capable of ripping off a good round in the woods.

My top contenders in no order:

Sexton
Paul
Ricky
Conrad
Eagle
Simon

Not a hot take of course, but there are plenty of golfers that some may consider dark horses, but if they have a good week I wouldn't be surprised at all (assuming they are playing):

Dickerson
Colglazier
Paju (the putt has to be working)
MJ
Leiviska

My darkhorse is Lloyd Weema. Dude has won half his starts this year

Can't resist, sorry. Isn't Lloyd Weema one of those porn star names you get by using some rubric? And yes, he's now officially my darkhorse vote. "Today, Long Weema, I mean, Lloyd Weema, won the DG World Championships!"

I'm sure McBeth will come back to Smuggs with a vengeance after last year. I would love to see Sexton take it down, but I'm just hoping for a tight race between anyone!

Check out Lloyd Weema, The People's Champ, giving a TED talk. After seeing this, I don't know how you could pick anybody else next weekend.

I hope he's on the feature card for Jomez.

This guy deserves an opportunity to get a chance through the fan vote....

....could be the greatest disc golf production ever

Literally wrote the beginning to this article today. Parity is the main story for me heading into Worlds.

On the 78th sudden death playoff hole both Paul and Ricky are at 152 under par when Ricky calls a foot fault on himself for one stroke giving Paul his 5th World Championship. But wait... after handing in his score card Paul remembers a misplay on a mando taking a two stroke penalty hence giving Ricky his third straight Worlds.

Note: There where 6 matched aces over 550ft during sudden death.

Paul would definitely call himself out for missing a Mando. However, there's a better chance of 6 aces over 550ft, than Ricky calling a footfault on himself.

Paul was tearing it up the first part of GMC until his injury if I remember correctly.

He's my favorite to win still. Idlewild reassured me. Paul just stayed ultra consistent and played three great rounds, each one a stroke better than the last.

Ricky has been mediocre (relative...) since his putting stopped being unmissable. I feel like I should say I think he gets too much **** around here for the foot fault stuff... but his game just isn't as good as it was.

Eagle is breaking out for sure, but is still having trouble with consistency it seems like. Not throw-to-throw but tournament-to-tournament.

Nate is top 3.

Simon will finish high but will not win.

Dickerson is dark horse.

After seeing the supremeflight instagram clips of Paul hitting lines and putts over and over again has me thinking its going to be him. Hot Eagle might give him a run for his money. But if its cold Eagle then bye bye.
