That's One Short 450' Hole! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 9, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

+Nice new baskets
+Nice looking signs
+Nice park with pool, playground, ball fields, paths, etc
+Parking and bathrooms
+Some interesting and fun pin positions. 9 was pretty cool. Hole 4 was a blind shot.
+A few ace runs
+Large mature trees.
+Shouldn't lose any discs here.

Cons:

-Hole distances are very off. Hole 2 is short and is listed at 450'. Most others appear to be off.
-Natural tees that will become eroded and muddy with any real use.
-Safety issues with blind shots, throwing over and near paths, near fences, near playgrounds, etc. I didn't throw hole 9 because there were kids playing under the flight line.
-Course is overall pretty short and easy. It is moderately wooded but there are many lines that are pretty easy to hit. I would recommend adding some OB to make it a little more interesting.
-I don't really like throwing around man made obstacles like chain link fences and you do that a few times here.

Other Thoughts:

+This course isn't worth a stop unless you're a course bagger but it is a decent addition to this city park and might get some new players into the game.
+This is my 48th course played out of 51 in SD and I hope to play them all by the end of 2014!

Small Town 9 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 20, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a beginner course in a small park which also has a playground, picnic shelter, swimming pool, horseshoes, basketball court, and a bike/walking path. The course is easy to navigate with simple but nice tee signs mounted on a wood post at each tee area.
The baskets are good quality Discatcher Pros. Some of the holes use the trees to help force some shot shaping which adds some challenge to the shorter holes. Plenty of aces to be had on this course as well.

Cons:

Natural tees, but this really isn't much of an issue given the location and size of the course. Short holes with only one or two holes over 300'. Tee signs are mostly innacurate with the lengths posted; hole 2 was marked as 450' par 4 but is really only around 200' in length. Two holes that play across the walking path eliminate the ob factors that could have been used and also holes that play across the horseshoe area and also too close to the playground.

Other Thoughts:

Despite the flaws, this course does a good job with the areas of the park they were allowed to use and is a good addition for this small town. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to play it, but if you are in the Beresford area, it does make for a nice quick round.
