Warwick like everyone else said is a must, Sabattus in Maine was worth the drive, then enjoy the mountain drive into New Hampshire. Ninigret in Rhode Island is underrated.
Time to head West
Another trip is in the early stages, with the timeframe of middle to the end of December. The states that are possibilities are Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and hitting a few more around Seattle. Any advice on this and the weather would be greatly appreciated.
