I do this as well or I feel like I have no chance of making the putt. I also pump four times before I putt but I count it off "one, two, one, two" and putt on three the second time, don't ask me why.

That's strange that some of them have that choppy plastic and others don't. The one I bought yesterday is smooth on top with none of those ripples at all.

Picked up one of these bad boys yesterday and it flies exactly the same as the old pros do. If that was a concern of yours then have no fear. They are more stiff than my older one but I'm thinking about buying 3 or 4 more since this is supposedly the last of them.
