REGISTRATION OPENS ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 10th at 9:30 PM MOUNTAIN TIME

The Flying Eagle Disc Society, Eagle County's disc golf club, is proud to bring you the third annual Flying Eagle Open disc golf tournament. This will be a PDGA B-Tier event featuring three rounds of golf on THREE separate courses, and is set to take place on September 23rd and 24th, 2017.

The field capacity of 216 players will be split into three pools with each pool playing shotgun start rounds at Hole in the Sky DGC (Eagle, CO), Gypsum Creek DGC (Gypsum, CO) and, new to the event in 2017, Cross Creek DGC (Gypsum, CO).

These courses will feature alternate tee positions depending on division. Amateur players can expect to receive a robust players pack, and there will be payouts to top finishers in all divisions (cash in pro and prizes in am), in addition to trophies for top players in each division.

Hole in the Sky DGC is a permanent, public course and will be open for practice rounds from sunrise to sunset until the day of the event. Gypsum Creek and Cross Creek will have limited practice and preview windows, details of which will be announced closer to event time.

We are excited to bring this event back to Eagle County, Colorado in 2017. Please join us for a weekend of disc golf and camaraderie in the autumn beauty of the high Rocky Mountains!

THE COURSES, GROUND RULES & PROTOCOL

Please refer to the official caddy book for specific ground rules on all holes at both courses

Hole in the Sky DGC

This course derives its challenge from the numerous water features that flow in and around the Eagle County Fairgrounds. A handful of wooded holes and mild elevation change keep things interesting on what is otherwise a flat and open course. Players who stay dry and in bounds should be able to score well, even with the baskets in the long positions.

- All water in the Eagle River and both irrigation ditches is out-of-bounds
- All discs over the top of the gravel pit berm are out-of-bounds (holes 1, 2 and 3)
- Regular out-of-bounds rules apply unless the hole calls for a drop zone
- Open Men, Open Women, Open Masters Men, Open Grand masters Men, Advanced Men, Advanced Masters Men play from long tees on all holes
- Open Masters Women, Advanced Women, Advanced Masters Women, Intermediate and Rec play from the short tee on holes 2, 5, and 15
- Two Meter Rule will NOT be in play

Gypsum Creek Golf Club

The first of its kind in Colorado, the championship layout at Gypsum Creek will offer a challenge to even the best disc golfers. Water, sand and other OB hazards will keep players honest while par fours and fives will test stamina and concentration. Natural and manicured beauty come together at Gypsum Creek to create a true test of top-level disc golf for all participants of the 2015 Flying Eagle Open.

- The disc golf layout will utilize holes 10-18 of the ball golf course
- Any disc surrounded by water in ponds or creek is out of bounds
- Discs that come to rest on or across the cart path (non-basket side) are out-of-bounds unless otherwise indicated
- Discs that come to rest in private property are out-of-bounds
- Discs that come to rest on a putting green are out-of-bounds
- Discs that come to rest in a sand trap are out-of-bounds
- Open Men, Open Women, Open Masters Men, Open Grand masters Men, Advanced Men, Advanced Masters Men play from long tees on all holes
- Open Masters Women, Advanced Women, Advanced Masters Women, Intermediate and Rec play from the short tee on all holes
- Two Meter Rule will NOT be in play
- Absolutely no outside alcohol will be permitted on the premises. This includes the course's parking lot.
- Tobacco smoking is forbidden while on course and will be allowed in designated areas only around the clubhouse

Cross Creek DGC

A brand new private disc golf course located in the remote wilderness of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. A winding, alpine road leads you to Cross Creek Ranch and eighteen holes of dense woods and drastic elevation change on a pristine piece of property. Be prepared for a true mountain disc golf round with plenty of hiking and traverses throughout. Specific ground rules are TBD.

Please settle all rulings by majority opinion of the members on your card. If a ruling absolutely cannot be decided on course, please use declared provisional throws to complete the hole in question and write both scores on the scorecard. A ruling will be made by a tournament director following the round. Recorded visual evidence such as photographs and video footage will NOT be utilized by the tournament directors for rulings decisions.

Please abide by all PDGA rules and regulations for play during your rounds as well as guidelines for etiquette, player conduct and dress code. Additional, course-specific regulations may be in play at the land owner's and tournament director's discretion and will be made known to all players prior to the start of the event. Players who are unable to follow these rules will be disciplined accordingly.
